Most people who don't follow boxing don't know Leonard Foreman and Oscar.

Tyson and Ali are the only two household names in boxing history

A lot of my friends know OF him, but wouldn't know the first thing about what weight class he's fighting or if he had a title or not

A lot of people in the UK know Floyd for what he did to Hatton. They are talking the casual ones who watch less than 5 fights a year here.

I don't think he's a household name yet, as much as he would like to believe otherwise. His last PPV success's were a hit through smart collaboration, fighting opponents who had a significantly larger fan base than his own. Although Hatton fans may beg to differ.

I agree. Yet! He could be but i think he needs more High Profile fights.

I am not sure, but he is very well known for a boxer.

3.5 million PPV buys says that more people know Floyd than you think. Regardless if he's a household name, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the most popular boxer in America now that Oscar De La Hoya has retired.
