The succes-stories of fighters taking good care off their money are few and far between. Who would have thought that Ali would ever be in financial trouble for instance? And when he came in trouble all the well-wishers were gone.

I'm not saying that the same will happen for Pac but if it does, it has been seen a lot of times before.

Hahaha. Well it's kinda image-creating isn't it? Still it doesn't prove that he's a fool with his money.

That is the thing when you go from rags to riches, you get all this money, you think it is never ending, and your lifestyle suddenly becomes a 100+ fold more expensive.

Boxers are like lottery winners. Their money making days are limited, and the cash flow will stop dead unless you create a plan and live fairly modest. 85% of lottery winners go broke. I would say Boxers are about the same percentage.

The smart ones are the ones like Whitaker and Breland, who invested enough with the help of Duva, that it is estimated they will get around $100,000 a year for life.

Can't help to remember Floyd Sr. talking about his son.. Jr was telling everyone that he was almost a billionaire or something exagerated and Sr quoted to a newspaper or site that he didn't have no billion dollars and that to "mark" his words that jr will be broke in a couple of years walking the streets of Grand Rapids

WOw can't belive that if this stuff is true that it could have happened. I feel bad for Floyd because at the time he thought he made a sound investment buying all that real estate in Las Vegas for a **** load of money...thinking it would be worth even more later down the road.. But as soon as the Housing crashed so did the worth of the real estate he had bought..Lost a lot of money on that..

Feel bad for him, but he should be getting some more chips soon and hopefully he'll be smart and invest the **** wisely or put it in an account and live off the interest..

BTW with this 5 fight deal with GBP..you think he might become a full partner with them?

Absolutely nothing. I was making a joke involving stereotypes. But some things to consider:

1)Cost of living in the philippines is roughly 1/10th of the cost of living in the US.

            2) Manny Pacquiao has endorsement deals with Mcdonalds, Nike, San Miguel Beer which i will guess is a far bigger source of income than any fight.

3)Manny Pacquiao is also a multi platinum recording artist in his country (I have no idea why. he sings horrible)

            4) Manny Pacquiao owns most of the country. Both literally and figuratively as he now has major shares in everything from cable broadcast networks, a basketball league, arenas, shopping malls, and his own promotional company.

            5) Unlike the U.S. the philippine govt is quite corrupt. Pacquiao could openly admit to being a notorious tax evader and it would not have any legal reprecussion given Pacquiao's importance to the country's image.
