Thus his next opponent, David Saucedo. The guy has an alright record until you see he has ZERO knockouts in his career!
Saucedo next foe for Freitas!
By Sebastián Contursi
Former WBO Super Featherweight champ and current WBO #1 Lightweight Acelino Freitas will face Argentine Fernando David Saucedo (16-3-2, 0 KOs) in his next fight scheduled for December 11 at Ginasio Ibiraouera in Sao Paulo, Brazil. After some versions indicated that Freitas’ first bout after being stopped by Diego Corrales last August 7th would be an eliminatory against WBO #2 Yuri Romanov, Saucedo’s name comes up as a surprise, considering that he obviously does not belong in the first level. Saucedo fought outside Argentina only twice. In December 2002, he drew against Italian Ivan Fiorletta in Italy. Last May 21st he was disqualified in the ninth round against Nedal Hussein in Australia. Rumors have it that Freitas’ trainer Oscar Suárez is the one responsible of choosing the Brazilian’s foes and on this occasion he rejected more than one before picking Saucedo. The contract for the fight will be signed today.
