out of all the fighters on mayweathers "hitlist"(cotto mosley pacquiao marquez ortiz) mosley will be his toughest fight, he will box circles around cotto, ortiz not skilled enough marquez to small pacquiao i believe will be outboxed easily as well if he dont come up wit a whole new style, marquez a counter/technical gave him huge problems and floyd is better than marquez at those very things

there is a never ending criticism and defense regarding mayweather and pacquiao.
and this will continue even more into the ramp up to their fyt and even after they have fought each other.
i have an inkling that manny will choose to fyt floyd/jaunma...read freddie's lips.
their super mega fyt should happen at 144to satisfy both camps, this will diminish whatever advantage one has over the other fyting at 140 or 147.

I don't like mayweathers style and his mouth but he is right in a way,
all the anouncers and analisist except the ones who boxed don't know ****.
brian kenny,teddy atlas,the ones from showtime ,larry merchant and the rest
are full of ****.ive seen countless fights when there talkin bout a fighter dominating and the speed an power you know, "all on the nuts",and boom the fighter gets knocked out .or the score cards reflect totaly different scores.
**** mayweather though, i would like to see him swallow marquez's glove.

One thing I find interesting is how many people are suddenly thinking Mosley will be a really tough fight for Mayweather. If there is one thing that Mosley can't do at this stage of his career, it is beat a good, fast, slick boxer and Mayweather is all of that and more. He will beat Mosley easily. He will have more trouble with Cotto and Pac.

Anyway, I must admit that I do find this 'ducking' crap amusing. Paul Williams had beaten Margarito and was unable to get fights for a long time. Cotto and Williams were both titlists at the same time in the same weight division. How is that not the same thing Ch@mp?

Just to clarify something first though. I don't really think Mayweather 'ducked' anyone as such, just as I don't think Cotto ever 'ducked' anyone. It's absurd. Mayweather took fights he felt were right and Cotto took whatever fights his promotion team gave him.

But, you are really missing the point Gambler1981 is trying to make. You say Mayweather ducked people simply because he was in the same division at the same time right? Well, don't forget that in his eyes, he fought the two top guys in that Judah was the former undisputed WW champion and he beat him. Baldomir beat Judah for all those titles and Mayweather then fought him for them and won. He beat what was the two biggest title holders, former and present.

Cotto also fought Judah, long after Mayweather beat him. He also fought Mosley who wasn't a titlist at WW and hadn't been for years. He wasn't even considered one of the top WW at that time.

While Paul Williams was gaining major recognition for beating the 'most feared man in boxing' Margarito and held a WW title throughout 2007 and 2008, Cotto also held a WW title at the same time and fought guys like Oktay Urkal, Judah, Mosley, Quintana, Alfonzo Gomez etc etc, none of whom held a title.

If you pretend that Mayweather was ducking anyone and everyone, why wasn't Cotto ducking Williams? He wasn't campaigning as a JMW or MW then and is still willing to fight at WW now.

Yeah i found that amazing, Even if he beat Mosley at this stage it would do nothing for eithers career except the pay.

And yes Cotto should/could have fought Williams if we have to go by the Mayweather is "ducking" so so and so.

I really dont have any problems with Cotto because he has fought anyone that has been put in front of him which happens to be most top rank fighters.

that's just floyd's prelude, overtures but he did fyt most of them he initially trash talked. it's his way of getting people's attention, hype if u want, to the impending match-up.
