RAFAEL MARQUEZ was Clearly just Rusty IMO

He took some flush shots in the fight but he took them fine. And his legs were definetly there and seemed sturdy enough.

He was just very rusty. His timing was off and his handspeed was slow. Tell tale signs of rust.

He seemed to be warming up alright in the third. He had some good combinations off the ropes and landed some great left hooks.

But i do think he definetly needs another tune up fight like this b4 he gets in the ring with the likes on Juanma Lopez or Israel Vazquez. From my experience watching boxing, it seems like come forward pressure fighters like Vazquez burn off rust at a much faster rate.

Anyway, i doubt Rafael is the same fighter he was b4 the Vazquez trilogy but he certainly doesnt seem shot IMO.

He was higher up in weight with a very long layoff for someone so small, so I didn't mind.
And who could beat that blistering right hand to end it.

His timing wasn't there to start it off but that guy was a pretty weird guy to fight.

I am sure he will be ready once he gets some quality rounds in.

I believe he definitely deserved the break seeing as he gave his heart for us three times in a row with the best guy around at the time.

He knocked the guy out cold in three.

How bad do you think he could've looked?

It's not like he struggled in there, just was a little rusty.

People are making a mountain out of a mole hill.
