Did you hear him on FNF? He said a bunch of crazy things but 1 thing that stood out to me was when he said that Floyd picked this fight because JMM is a counter puncher and Floyd hates to fight guys that come at him. He said that Floyd is scared to fight those guys and wants no part of them so thats why he picked JMM.
What is he talkin about? Most people consider Floyd a counter puncher and he even called Floyd that. He's a counter puncher because pretty much every guy he faces tries to come at him. He's outweighed in pretty much every fight. It happeneds so often that now alot of people think JMM may win or cause him some trouble because he may not come after Floyd as much. Roach is starting to say stuff just to say it. Yeah, Floyd hates for guys to come after him but pretty much every opponent he's faced tries to? Come on now. I think he's starting to realize that the Floyd-Pac fight is getting closer and he's not that confident right now. He knows that Floyd has to style to give Pac fits and has even admitted it. I think he feels that if he loses to Shane or Cotto then it wont be as bad because alot of people will say that they were just too big for him but not many will say that if he loses to Floyd. However, they have to take the fight because its so much money. Too much to turn down.
He's talking a ton about Floyd being scared of Pac and thats why he didnt wait the extra day. Everyone is talking about that but to me it sounds like fear when he says it. The past few months both Roach & Arum were talking a ton about them taking other fights to make Floyd wait. That way he can fight Pac in September-December after a nearly 2 year layoff. Arum talked openly about it like they were banking on Floyd being older and rusty while facing a prime Pac. Now he's having a fight before then and that is making them panic. Now they know that he wont be out as long as they wanted and he will be alot less rustier then they wanted. Thats why theyre looking at other fights now. Basically, its not going as planned and it will be even worst once Floyd kills JMM. They will try to ask for crazy stuff during negotiations and if Floyd does great numbers against JMM then it will be a Circus act during those meetings.
