Well, BPP brings up a good point but I think that is not the real question that should be asked. The question that should be ask is why are African Americans dodging Pacquiao?
Joan Guzman, a dominican who's style resembles african americans tries to move up but then doesn't make weight. Is this to keep Pacquiao further away from him? Pacquiao needed to move up in weight for bigger things. Fighting an unknown Joan Guzman at 122 does nothing for him when he can fight the mexican legends at the higher weight classes. Joan Guzman could have tried to chase him down but did not. Pacquiao had a window of opportunity after he had beaten JMM in the second fight.. yet not one African American fighter stepped up to the challange. Why not Nate Cambell? Where was he? Why didn't he try to deter the great Philippino Dragon?
African Americans have had the chance to fight Pacquiao and stop his path of destruction as he took a ride to the top. How come none have stepped in his way to fight him? It seems that only Mexicans have tried to be the wall that stops Pacquiao but as we can see Pacquiao toppled them... all with the exception of a controversial draw. Why has Mayweather chosen Marquez instead of Pacquiao?
So I ask boxing scene... Have African Americans avoided fighting the Southpaw slugger?
