Who's the HARDER puncher? Rafa Marquez or Juanma Lopez?

Simple question... Who cracks harder?

Rafa: 38-5-34 KOs (90%)

Juanma: 25-0-23 KOs (92%)

juanma is a huge cat at 122 lbs.

what's more important than punching power is punch resistance, and because of the vasquez fights, RM loses that one.

I dont think Rafa can thrown 1000+ punches like Juanma did in 9 rounds.

Buys who are very accuarate is because they throw less punches to be eefective. Rafa throwing 1K ppunches in a fight will get him out of his style and game plan.

And nope rafa doesnt hit harder than Juanma, dont think he would of KOd Penalosa either.

True didnt think about that, but if he ever did, I'm sure he would atleast land over 50% and I would have Marquez in the top 3, De Leon hits hard, but I think Rafa hits harder.

Marquez had similar power at 118 to that JuanMa has at 122. But at 122 and up, Rafa's punches don't seem as devastating. I mean ****, at 118, Rafa was staggering dudes with jabs.

That pretty much sums it up..

I think that's also why Marquez never really learned any sufficient defense. The ****in guy would just drop bombs on people, he never needed defense.

I mean, Sure Marquez have Ko lots of people. But Juanma stoped to guys that have never been down ever.

My point is, for Example, Quintana is a better alll around fighter than margarito. But what means you have more power, Koing Quintana or Margarito?

Juanma has definetly more power and is stronger, Rafa is a great counterpuncher with good power tho!!!!!!!!!!

dont get me wrong i do think juanma probbaly does hit a little harder but you cant use that argument

De LEon and Peñalosa(Wich wasnt a rel KO, just a stoppage).


ANyways, Juanma Hits way, harder, he hurts people with gracing shots.

He is naturaly heavy handed. Marquez punching power comes more with his speed and skills.

Penalosa wasn't knocked down, the De Leon knockout was impressive but can you honestly say Marquez wouldn't have knocked him out? Marquez would have knocked De Leon out as well. And Marquez is a naturally big puncher, he's stopped a higher quality of opposition than Lopez has, until Lopez knocks out truly A-class fighters, I won't say he's a bigger puncher than Marquez.

Juanma is a slightly bigger pure puncher though, there's a photo of him, Cotto, and Calderon around that shows him having huge hands, even bigger than Cotto's. Heavy hands+precision punching=The harder puncher.

I met him in Vegas, the kid has some mitts on him, I'm a normal sized dude (5'10", 190lbs) and his hands are almost as big as mine, but Rafael has some big mitts too and some very prominent knuckles (check out some pics). That's part of the reason both fighters can crack.
