The Book in defeating Floyd Mayweather.

Before I go into an depth explanation, I will get to the point. Marquez needs to bait him the first few rounds, making Mayweather think he is applying a Mexican Style boxing. And make him feel confident enough that he is in control. Only then can he punish him. Marquez needs to apply this baiting tactic discreetly, or else Mayweather will run and pot shoot him all night until he is worn out.

Coming in guns blazing is neither his style or a favorable tactic. What Marquez has to do, is out hustle Mayweather.

“There is no avoiding war, it can only be postponed to the advantage of your enemy.”
    Niccolo Machiavelli 1502

“The only way to get smarter is by playing a smarter opponent.”
    Fundamentals of Chess 1883

Marquez is a smart fighter, every bit of ring intelligence that Mayweather can claim to have amassed. Well I hate to burst anyone’s bubble, but Marquez has as on top of being the more experienced out of the two.

Mayweather is quite good at this game, Marquez knows because he is quite good at this game. The art is to believe that Marquez feeds some faints or plays, and for Floyd to believe he is in control. Because Floyd is smarter, and Marquez is dumber (feed Floyds Ego). He will not realize he has bin duped into an offensive stance, until its too late.

Otherwise it comes down to a tactical war, and honestly I cant see him winning. Under favorable odds, Barrera and Casamayor provided way to much resistance.

Thanks for being discreet and giving Floyd a heads up on Sun Tzu's Art of War right here on this public forum.

But seriously, Marquez is a great fighter in his own right and he knows what he's up against. My guess is he's likely working on several strategies to beat Floyd.

I expect him to bring his A game to the fight.

Unless Marquez lands the knockout punch I dont see him winning. Marquez is a true boxer, he wont push the issue and doesnt have the legs he used to. You will see Floyd push Marquez back in this fight and possibly stop him. Floyd will break Marquez down, Marquez will see that he isnt able to counterpunch effectively and will see that he is losing rounds trying to do so. Look for Floyd to touch his body effectively also.
