You could also say Barrera lost to Junior Jones x2 in his prime. Do you consider him at ATG ?
He said within their prime years, Lewis was indeed within his prime years when he lost to McCall.

Why can't they be ATG's if they come back from them victories and bounce back even better or at least get back to winning titles? that is bull**** pal. in no sport oes losing in you rprime deny you greatness. There is too much emphasis on winning all the time which is why so many fighters duck other fighters nowadays or even go into hiding at age of 27 like Prince Naseem. He could have been an entertainer and a wildcard even without winning every fight. lewis bounced back to beat McCall, Phillips went down while Tszyu came back to unify the division. tyson bounced back to win titile and like tszyu, had no reason to avenge loss to the fallen Douglas. The 'average' fighters still had a heartbveat so everyone is bound to have one bad day at the office. It is human nature.

It took me awhile to think of a legit "average" fighter.

To me Ali losing to Ken Norton in their first fight was an ATG losing to an average fighter.
