If Brian Kenny knows nothing about boxing...

I was thinking the same; LOW CLASS.Floyd reacted like any other person with low intelligence does when hit with good logical arguments, he got emotional and started getting personal with Kenny. Attacking someones place in the world does not prove your point if it's not related to what you're arguing about, it just makes you look like a ****.
What is Floyd going to say to a SOLDIER?
You aren't a FIGHTER?
I make more Money than you do?
Doctors don't make the money Floyd does, but are they less of a person or respected?
That said, Brian's job is overrated as well when we get down to it but he doesn't come off across as someone thinking he is better than someone who makes less money.Comment

That statement made me laugh. According to Floyd's logic, if you have never laced up the gloves then you can't possibly know anything about the structure of Boxing, and it's history. Bert Sugar is a fraud!Comment

floyd got owned by b.k. and it was good publicity for boxing. floyd acted like his fans on boxingscene, emotional b*tches lol.why did Floyd say "Come on, you know he won both those fights man." Why, if Kenny knows nothing about boxing, does Floyd care to know what his opinion is? I gotta say, Floyd came off as a huge **** in that interview. Only good thing is that it brings boxing to the mainstream.Comment

I have tremendous respect for Floyd as a fighter, and enjoy watching his fights, but he was absurdly pretentious in that interview. He could have been more professional, but I suppose I'm expecting too much from him.I was thinking the same; LOW CLASS.

My thoughts exactly.Brian wasn't going to kiss up to Floyd on SportsCenter; it wouldn't make for good TV. When you have Floyd on the air, stir him up.
Look again what happened on FNF when Brian was talking to Freddie Roach and basically sticking up for Floyd's points that Oscar was dead at 147 and so on. And he has said those same opinions even before the Mayweather interview. So why did he bring up that Pac had the better win over Oscar despite what Brian knows? Well, some of it has to do with the KO victory but overall it is that Brian wants good TV when Floyd is on and he knows a pissed off Floyd is a good show. Plus, it stirs up interest in a Pac vs. Floyd fight even more and it hypes up boxing. Reminds me of when Brian was doing the normal ESPN sports review stuff and even though they were discussing another sport, Brian would slide in something about boxing...that used to crack me up. Brian is good for boxing.
I think Brian spent a little to much time with Max Kellerman. Both Brian and Max are trying to make fights by stirring up certain fighters. Hell, I'm glad for it in some ways. Although it kind of reminds me of that one kid in school who used to stir up trouble to get two kids to fight each other.
And for Floyd, if he looked bad in that interview with Brian, it was because he doesn't know how to give a better bs reason why he has to fight JMM. Floyd has restrictions on telling why he needs to fight JMM. If he tells the reasons, which is to get back at Pac for going after his last two opponents, Hatton and Oscar...and by fighting JMM will get Pac into the ring; he will lose leverage in negotiations because it will be him {Floyd} asking for the Pac fight. The JMM fight is his only way to get a fight with Pac and get a fair deal done.
Floyd made some good argument points but he could have done better.
Floyd's apparently got some beef with Brian and a few other interviewers
who do bring up a lot of good questions most fans are asking. My guess is in the past they may have said something off the cuff that Floyd took the wrong way.
His other interviews have gone well.
If I were Floyd, I'd simply reply by saying:
"Those other fights couldn't be made in the past due to promotional and managerial issues between myself and the other fighters' teams that I'd rather not discussed at this time."
It could've avoided much of the drama.
But controversy sells, right?Last edited by MindBat; 05-23-2009, 08:41 AM.Comment
