Total b*ll****. Other than his record (including four title defences) most UK fans knew little about Lacy, except that he had something of a rep but all the Lacy hype - including the 'next Tyson' thing - came from the US. The US boxing establishment was genuinely shocked by that fight; some of the brighter pundits thought Lacy might lose, but none that he would lose in the way he did.Comment

If you'd been here in 2005 you'd see it wasn't Zag fans hyping him up. It was an LOLathon in here.Actually: http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...human_id=31593 I don't see anything special about Lacy in his resume and to be honest i didn't know who he was until Calzaghe fans started saying he was a good fighter (after Zaghe beat him up of course) to hype the Zaghe up. I can see he has never beaten noone undefeated, fact and that he's never was a champion, simply a belt holder. At best a Mayorga quality fighter imo.Comment

Combination of the beatdown and the shoulder injury.
Lacy was overhyped by the same categorical mass who are now always saying he was overhyped.
Doesn't mean the Lacy people saw in 2007/2008 wasn't a significantly deteriorated version of what he was in March 2006.Comment
