I don't see anything special about Lacy in his resume and to be honest i didn't know who he was until Calzaghe fans started saying he was a good fighter (after Zaghe beat him up of course) to hype the Zaghe up.

Total b*ll****. Other than his record (including four title defences) most UK fans knew little about Lacy, except that he had something of a rep but all the Lacy hype - including the 'next Tyson' thing - came from the US. The US boxing establishment was genuinely shocked by that fight; some of the brighter pundits thought Lacy might lose, but none that he would lose in the way he did.

I can see he has never beaten noone undefeated, fact and that he's never was a champion, simply a belt holder. At best a Mayorga quality fighter imo.

Lacy was overhyped by the same categorical mass who are now always saying he was overhyped.

Doesn't mean the Lacy people saw in 2007/2008 wasn't a significantly deteriorated version of what he was in March 2006.
