mann, i knew dubai was booming big time and have been watching it develop for the past 7-8 years. even watched documentaries on it. But I have never seen how it loooked at nite. that pic is ****in. Dubai looks like the revamped modern day NYC and how it should look. nice pic.

It's gorgeous. Can you imagine the rent on an apartment? Can't eat for two weeks to pay that sucker off.

The place is OKAY. Not really that bad I should say. With all of their money they can do anything they want. They like to say we have the biggest, we have the largest, we are the most, we have the tallest... etc..

Scenarios:

1. a tourist went to a coffee shop and had a coffee and a bread with sesame seeds. When he was eating the bread some of the sesame seeds(or whatever that is) fell on his front shirt pocket. He went to fly to Dubai and police stopped him and was interrogated for long hours only to find out the truth about the sesame seeds. They f@ckin thought it was drugs.

2. When the torture tapes of the brother of sheikh of abu dhabi was released to public and youtube. they blocked all internet sites relating to it. you can check it on youtube(search for "sheikh torture"). newspapers also blocked the news.


3. Most of the internet websites are blocked.

4. Everything is controlled by the government.

5. Issues after a Blackberry patch from the phone operator was later on found out that the patch included a surveilance software.

6. Most people here are dumb yet arrogant because they are rich. and they feel like they own you.

7. Alcohol is not allowed.

8. ******** is not allowed.

9. during ramadan(the whole month of september) you are not allowed to drink, chew a gum, eat, or just even acting like chewing, or smoking and others.
Restaurants even food courts on malls are closed.

10. there was one time a guy looked like he was doing a dirty finger but he's not and he end up in jail and got deported.

11. A guy who wore a women's stuff was caught in a mall and ended up in jail.

13. Thousands of cars were found left on the airport because they are soo afraid to end up in jail.

14. banks will lock up your bank account if they found out you lost your job.

Dubai is nice but don't be mesmerized by what they have and what they can show you. they have all the resources and the can trick anyone.

Now they have overstocked apartments because a lot of people left the place already.

If you try to go, visit and live there... My warning is that expect to feel you're in another planet!!! Next thing you'd desperately want is to get out of the place.
