yes some people turned up, but do you realise what the capacity of Wembley is?

it's 90,000. You're not going to get 90,000 people to watch two foreigners fight, you'd be lucky to get 20,000 to watch it. UK fans don't follow boxing, they follow UK fighters. Khan would pull a bigger crowd and he's not even that popular.

Joe Calzaghe couldn't even sell out Millennium Stadium for his big clash with Kessler.

Floyd is a *****. This guy cannot even crack top 50. It will worsen if he beats Marquez. His resume is becoming a big time joke.

No doubt Pac has a ton of fans over there so I will never take that from him but I do kind of think that alot of the Hatton fans would root for Floyd in that fight since he has talked so highly of them and in alot of ways Floyd would be the underdog and I think they will root for that. Everyone is ripping on Floyd right now and theyre acting like Pac is the king and I think the Hatton fans would get behind him on that. I think Pac may have the bigger numbers but its alot closer now then it was in the past

I'm not sure UK fans would really have a preference. They don't know Pac because he doesn't speak English, all they know is that he took out Hatton in 2. Some fans would back Mayweather but just like in the US he can generate hate too, he was entertaining in the build-up to the Hatton fight though and everyone likes an entertainer, that's why Hatton is so popular. People used to say it was because he was humble etc, it wasn't, it was because he was funny.

I agree with everything you said but I think you are severly underestimating this event. This would be the biggest fight in a million years. Everyone will be talking about it. If the US people hype it up then you know the UK will be behind it because boxing isnt even big in the US so this must be something major. Then you will have Floyd hyping it like only he could. I think they would come out, even if its not for the fight itself. I think the event will be so huge that people will want to be theyre. Almost like a concert or something. 90 is alot but its not as much as people are making it out to be. We get 90 in the US for alot of football games and even the average one's. Boxing is still a major sport in the UK and both of these guys beat Hatton. I could see this being the 1 fight that they would turn out for. I wouldnt guarantee it by any means but I could see it easily happening

Im not really talking about UK people when it comes to Pac. They have a huge Filipion population. He had more people than Hatton in alot of the pre fight stuff over there

They would load the undercard with UK fighters and probably have big time musicians performing making it an event, not just a boxing card. Degale, Tyson Fury, Khan, and a few other prospects from the UK would most likely be on the card.

Boxing isn't big in the UK though that's the point, it's not a major sport, Cricket, Football (soccer) and Rugby Union/League are our sports. Joe Calzaghe and Ricky Hatton are major sporting figures here and that's what sells.

The only way I see it getting a significant crowd is the Filipinos turning up, there are about 150,000 filipinos in London apparently but again, it's Manny Pacquiao who sells not the fight itself. They'd watch him train in their thousands in the Phillipines.

I must say though I never met a Phillipino in the UK in my life, but then I don't live in London.

IDK if I buy that. I mean Hatton & Calzaghe make the people turn out in droves. You say they are the only 2 but guess what? Theyre pretty much the only 2 good ones. All the other guys pretty much lose against top comp. I think boxing may not be huge but good boxing is and these are 2 guys they know from the Hatton fights. Khan will be huge too. Its just the good boxers.
