I'm surprised no one has heard of him. He was shown fairly regularly in the 90's with his best win being probably over Kirkland Laing, a comeback stoppage in the seventh round. Laing, as usual, was able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory against an inferior opponent.
Buck Smith was not a very good boxer but he obviously liked fighting and made money fighting almost every week. In the mid 90's it wasn't all that rare to see fights go the distance with no decision announced. I remember Rob Calloway, another very active fighter, explaining his early no decisions this way, only a stoppage would count. This made it less risky for promoters to put their fighters against one another on a short notice.
Smith started as a welterweight but these days he fights at a bloated 190 lbs and hasn't won a fight in years.
Julio Cesar Chavez, Antonio Margarito, Mark Breland, James McGirt, Kirkland Laing and Rob Calloway are among his most notable opponents.Last edited by TheGreatA; 05-22-2009, 07:32 PM.Comment

With a little research, either this dude appears to be real, or people went to insane lengths to fake his existance, including sneaking him on to chavez and margarito's record. apparently he was also somehow involved in the FBI investigation about Arum fixing fightsComment
