Ask an honest question? Not at all.

You're trying to say that nobody should complain because JMM isn't.

    That wasn't a question.

It was a cute way of suggesting your feelings on the matter in question format.

I've seen and played Jeopardy before.

Notice everyone replied in the same exact way.

haha..KING get real. It was an HONEST question and you and NO ONE ELSE will tell me otherwise. How can you tell me if I'm being honest or not?

I wanted to know WHY everyone is coming when the guy that is fighting is NOT. You can complain ALL you want. But the WHY is what I was trying to get at.

Notice how I started the thread with "WHY has everyone BUT..."

I will get to it, but I have tried to keep my posts minimal to see how everyone feels...

The Floyd of old was not like that at all, but as he got richer, he started looking for the easy route. His fans are so blinded and delusional regarding the path he has taken, they just refuse to see how he is not only cheating them, but the sport as well.

This is not a intended to be post made of hate. I love this sport and have for most of my 41 years. I love this sport because of the action, the spirit and drive of the combatants. From small clubs, up to the top of the sport, I can feel that inner drive fighters have to step up one notch higher.

If Floyd turns himself around after Marquez I will reward him as such. JMM and Pacquiao are examples of glory first fighters. Sure the paydays are nice, but what drives them more than anything is the glory. You can see it when you watch them fight. You can see it with their willingness to take on all comers. You can feel it and know they want to make history the right way.

If you do not get my drift, can you sit back and call yourself a true boxing fan?
Most fans of the sport prefer to watch exciting fights with the combatants
standing in the middle of the ring knocking eachother's block off. They could care less about the other aspects of the sport that fighters are "allowed" to implement inside a ring, much less the safety of the fighters who risk their lives by merely stepping in there.

Floyd has been so dominant in his career against top caliber opponents who were favored to beat him, that many were disappointed when Floyd beat them in, practically, effortless fashion. So, many come up with theories and hypotheses for the opponents' loss.

Every fighter seeks an advantage over his opponent.

The same can be said of every top fighter with less than top caliber opponents on their list.

            But I understand your frustration.

The bold, who are these SMALLER and OLDER guys? Hatton was the only "smaller" guy that he fought before. If you call Oscar old (he wasn't prime) when May fought him, then when Pac fought him he was even OLDER. If he fights Shane now, would you credit him for fighting him, or would be considered OLD?

Have you read the reports that he signed a FIVE FIGHT DEAL with Golden Boy? I think that is good news for boxing fans, fans of him or not. He has only been back like 2 weeks, and with this news of him wanting to fight those guys is huge, now we have to sit back and wait for them to happen. If you and I disagree on something, that doesn't make me a less of a boxing fan. I know that I love this sport and based on this post alone I know that you love the sport. I personally grew up around it my whole life, so even IF we disagree, I know that I am a TRUE fan of the sport of boxing. And I respect you as such.

I cannot remember any fighter being really favored over Floyd. Diego was a fairly even test potential wise. When Floyd fought Judah, it was actually the last time I saw Floyd taking a huge risk. Back then Judah was already inconsistent, but I was still at the stage of thinking Judah's performances were still determined on how motivated Judah was. I thought he could actually beat Floyd due to being naturally larger frame wise, faster and with considerable more power, along with what I thought he was truly motivated.

That was the last fight I felt excited for Floyd. When Floyd signs with Manny and Cotto, I will start getting excited again. Do I think they can beat Floyd? No, well the Floyd of old they can't. But they are still risky ventures, especially now that Floyd is a bit older.

I just feel JMM has extended himself way too far for this fight. He is still a super featherweight in my eyes and has struggled at lightweight to the point where he had to gut out those wins.

That is a dilemma for me. I never included Shane in my last post because I do think he is old. He looked fantastic in his last fight, but the fight before it he looked really old. Right now Shane is hit or miss with me. Someone beating him will not get a lot of credit, because Shane just might come in the ring old again. I am not sure where Shane is right now. I don't think anyone does.

Cotto and Manny are huge wins as they are both still young and offer interesting challenges.

Well using that logic Floyd is even more of a beast.

He's gone from 130 to 154 winning titles.

I agree with you dean. That is why I have said before that he wont get much credit for that victory because it was a MUCH more intriguing fight when they were at 35.
