I don't hate Floyd, but some of you jerks sure make it hard. Floyd is the best in the business, I'm not gonna try to tell anyone otherwise. He's fought and beat some of the best out there, I give him all the respect for that. But are you all serious trying to include Oscar De La Hoya with Ricky Hatton as someone who's career was RUINED by FMJ? Really? A split decision loss isn't even the point, I thought Floyd won by enough for it not to be an issue, but there is nothing about the fight with Oscar that stands out as an "ass beating". Ricky looked different as a result of lost confidence. Oscar looked different because the dude was anorexic in his last fight. Like I said, I don't disrespect Floyd, don't disrespect my intelligence by telling me he killed Oscar's career. Haha, I'm not even an Oscar DLH fan and I am disgusted by that assertion. He lost because he got outboxed, he didn't get bruised.
Are these Floyd sack huggers serious?

He did ruin Corrales pretty bad, but Chico still came back to have that classic war with Castillo. I don't think Floyd ruins guys physically though, a guy like Cotto seems like he could.Comment

Enter the Floyd fans that feel they must defend him and, with good intentions, end up being the polar opposite of people that hate Floyd and some, its true, think he's the Jesus Christ of boxing and he can do no wrong.
Why can't we like Floyd, hate Floyd, feel however we feel about Mayweather and yet not abandon logic and intelligence for our agendas? Oscar didn't have his career ruined by anyone. Oscar had a lengthy, respected journey in the sport and it ended when he got old enough that his body couldn't do what his mind knew it needed to. His loss to Floyd had a lot to do with stamina issues, as his loss to Pacquiao had to do with weight drain. I don't think either boxer beat the real Oscar De La Hoya. Though, if we want to say someone ended Oscar's career, it's obviously the beating Pacquiao gave him that made him admit he was done.Comment

no, wait. This is what i don't get. Not just physically? Physically, he did nothing at all to Oscar. That was a straight up points win. Not a Juan Diaz, Kelly Pavlik, Paul Williams landing 1000 punches win. Floyd won because he was smart, not because he landed 100 a round on Oscars face. And I gave Floyd the win, but that wasn't a landslide, I can see a split as not outta the realm of possibility. And Oscar's a vet, he fought big fights before Mayweather, he lost big fights before Mayweather, to bigger men then Mayweather, in worse fashion. Giving Floyd credit for Oscar looking like he did against Pacquiao is wrong 100 times over, and you guys who are trying to instigate that notion need to be called out. Go watch ODLH fights, he lost big against Trinidad, and he lost bad against Hopkins. Those were just as tough(The Hopkins fight was tougher) for Oscar to get over. Because those came earlier, when Oscar wasn't a mega rich vet who didn't even need a W on his record. Just keep it real that's all I ask. You're making it harder to like Floyd for everyone who isn't on the balogna wash line.Comment

I think it all starts with those that try and throw crap on Floyd no matter what he does because his persona is that of an *******. So, ten thousand threads pop up with people not even attempting to use logic and just making jokes and insults about Mayweather off the scripts written for them by their twelve year old cousins.
Enter the Floyd fans that feel they must defend him and, with good intentions, end up being the polar opposite of people that hate Floyd and some, its true, think he's the Jesus Christ of boxing and he can do no wrong.
