    Boxing vs. Football

Football is probably Americas biggest sport but I personally could do without it. I think boxing is better for the following reasons

    1) A fight is 36 minutes inside of 48 minutes at most and can end at anytime, football takes close to three hours with all the time outs, commercials, clock stoppages etc.
    2) Even a dull fight has more action than football becasue in that 3 hours of football you get maybe 20 mintues worth of action.
    3) In boxing the fighter is one man that has to do all the work himself, in football there are 11 players that work as a team to help each other score points.
    4) Boxers are way toughter, in between rounds get q-tips jammed up there broken noses and shoved into open cuts. They also break there hands and jaws in fights all the time and keep fighting on. In football players will get carried off the field on a stretcher for a stubbed toe and if a quarterback gets a fratcure on his pinkee finger he is out for weeks.
    5) Boxing there are only 1 minute breaks in between rounds for rest, football there are multiple 30-60 second time outs, rests between each quarter and the forever long Half Time.

Anyone feel free to add anything I missed or talk **** because they disagree.

Pops was a fighter...one of the best in the world as an amateur...name is Vincent Webb. He had me in the gym as a very little boy. Like 2 years old. He was very successful in his amateur career and his pro career never really took off due to physical problems. He steered me away from boxing into other sports because he didn't want me to have to live up to his very good boxing accomplishments. But boxing was in me and from the stories that he tells me, I WAS A NATURAL WITH THE GLOVES ON. I used to "train" with him whenever he went to the gym. He led me to football at 6, and I fell in love with it. Great high school career. Great college career. I went to school with Tony Romo, I was POY in the conf, all-american, 2nd all time leading rusher in school history. Tried out for the Colts, but pulled my hammy. Playing now for an indoor team.......

I SAID ALL OF THAT TO SAY THIS (i'm NOT braggin), THOUGH I DID ALL THAT IN FOOTBALL, BOXING IS STILL MY FIRST LOVE AND MY FAVORITE SPORT!!!!!!!!!!

TRUE STORY! It is a poor man's rugby, or you can say it is smear the ***** with grid lines. Them fat bastard line men are not sportsmen either. How do they select them, do they pick average americans out randomly? Lol. Boxing is international just like real football. Nuff said

There is a foot on the ball when a team is kicking or punting.

here is a question that the reporter asked me...

What do you do for fun away from the football field?

Watch sports, I'm a sports addict (laughs). All sports. Basketball, football, track, I mean, I don't usually play any other sports really. I love boxing, if you ask anybody. That's my other favorite sport. I probably love to watch boxing more than anything (laughs). If I wasn't playing football, I think I'd be boxing. I'm just a sports nut. (My favorite boxer is)Floyd Mayweather Jr. He's a junior, and he grew up in a gym, you know, I can kind of see, I kind of know what his life is like. His dad was a professional boxer. He grew up and he's the best fighter in the world. So I kind of see myself like maybe I could have been that but, no hard feelings, but I really like him for that. My dad tried to keep me away from it. I kind of joke with him. Tell him I should've boxed, but you know. I'm happy with football. I think it was a good move for me. He steered me in a different direction. I think it all worked out.
That was my senior year in college (2006) before our 1st game against the University of Illinois.

Funny because that perfectly relates to the thread.
