Haye is putting a lot on the line here, you could even say his career is on the line. He's taken the fight in his back garden, on his terms. He has to sign a contract which means he's fighting Klits for the next 2 years.

Takes balls to do that, boxing needs more people like David Haye. Fights would be made and there wouldn't be anyone ducking anyone. Say what you want about how he fights or his career before this, but nobody can deny his is right for the sport.

      Yes. He's a creep...

But some silly people think nice, charitable, strong men are boring and loud mouthed braggarts with weak character are exciting.

The Klitschkos are great for boxing, but some people don't want white heavyweight champions.

I'm hoping this fight brings out the best Wladimir Klitschko because he will have to fight and trade at times. Hopefully we will see a great fight with the offensive arsenal that Wladdy had before he lost to Sanders. If we do see that then this will be one exciting fight...

            Tunney....u fail, period

wlad has already said hes not gonna fight an exciting fight.
remember he said he wants to beat haye up over 12rds and then ko him.
so that means him trying to keep haye off with the jab for 11rds, then
throwing a few hooks in the 12th rd.

            if it gets that far

It isn't going anywhere near 12.

Why do people take what fighters' say before fights so fucking seriously on this forum?

Because of the styles, Wlad has every chance at scoring an "exciting" KO against Haye.

its just he hasnt had an "exciting" ko in yrs.

and why cant we discuss something a fighter says in the build up if
it could be relevant. personally it sounded like wladimir was saying
"i aint changing my style, even against an exciting fighter like haye"

That's just about the most truth I've seen packed into one article in quite a while. Haye is the only hope for the HW division. The Klitschko's are beyond lame.

                    Oh my poor friend...

I have no problem with either Klitschko - and you're right... they're both good, upstanding, intelligent, honest blokes and very good technical fighters. Ok?

But in sport, people like (or if not like, can't help but watch) the team or individual that talks the talks and walks the walk... That's just the way it is - in football, Gridiron, cricket, basketball, UFC, whatever. Attacking, stylish teams / individuals sell tickets and win hearts, not defensive, negative tactics.

What winds people up most with Wlad is he's more talented than that but doesn't want to show it, doesn't want to risk it. Floyd Jr does the same but at least he does it in style...

People and teams who - like Haye - go for the jugular and provide pure excitement are a major draw.

Could Vitali have sold out this venue in 48hrs or whatever fighting Thompson or Povetkin???? No chance.

As for Haye being a 'creep', then so was Ali, so was Tyson, so was every other fighter who hyped a fight by badmouthing an opponent.

I'm going to completely ignore your racist claims, man, that **** is soooo lame.

KostyaTszyu is right - look at Adamek. It's not skin colour, it's Wlad's safety first, low-risk strategy that makes him 'boring' especially to the casual observer.

To me it seemed less like a sincere gameplan statement than Wlad just doing his part of the promo for the fight (in his own way), saying he was going to give Haye a protracted beating/"lesson" as "punishment" for "misbehaving" - whereas in reality it probably won't go 6.

Not aimed at you or your post in particular - just in general, people here talk and ***** way too much about **** that boxers say amid the buzz of fight hyping. To the point where entire (intended to be profound) arguments are based on picking apart some hype-y soundbite for the sake of...nothing, really. It just gets ridiculous.
