jordan was not the ali of basketball. As far as accomplishments go, of course ali wins. As far as drive to master his craft, jordan kills him. When did you ever hear jordan say "this team we're about to play is no good so I'm not going to practice."

Jordan trained harder than ali. He spent more hours working on basketball than ali did working on boxing.

I posted this in your other thread but I'll say it again:

          Ali was bigger than MJ.

If anything, Jordan is the Ali of basketball, not vice versa

Jack Johnson is Jack Dempsey's daddy.

I do not think Jordan and Ali are comparable at all. Ali was very political and Jordan was all about his finely crafted image. I hated Jordan because I am a Pistons fan but Jordan also never got the level ot hatred Ali got.

It's not about "bigger." Jordan had a certain legacy, and part of it was being the hardest worker in his sport. Ali didn't have that.

More importantly, dempsey was bigger than ali. I'll repeat that in case it didn't register. Dempsey was bigger than ali. He drew million dollar gates in the 20's. Do you have any idea what that means? More evidence that dempsey = jordan of boxing. One of ali's fights against sonny liston set a record for smallest attendance at a heavyweight title fight in history.

What makes you think Ali didn't work hard?

"Ali" didn't fight Sonny Liston. That was before he changed his name, refused to serve, and became the most famous man on the planet.
