Nah, never met him... been pretty close. I stayed at the same casino that put on the fight down in Biloxi for Hanshaw... and we were in the hotel bar area having a drink after the fight, and my buddys just like... yo... look. We look over and Roys maybe 10 feet from us walking down the hallway. I also went to the weigh-in at the hotel and we were right by the entrance to the room for the weigh-in so I saw Roy, Merk, Hanshaw, and Floyd Sr. was Hanshaws trainer..

He isn't as big as he looks, and he looks a lot older in person then he does on TV... the end is near.

I went to the Hopkins Pavlik fight and I see this dude limp by with a full beard, cane and a hat. My boy says yo there goes Roy. I'm like that old dude limpin aint no Roy. Then he walks up to the the interview platform across from where we are sitting and I'm oh damn that is Roy!!! I guess I confused the limp for Swag. I was impressed. We talking back and forth with him from across the platform before Lamply interviewed him. He answered ever single person who called his name or asked a question. He watched the under card fights, did his interview, talked with us and bounced. When we saw Merchant he ignored us when we said hi but Roy who is an all time great was willing to shoot the ****. Great dude.

Yeah he is known for being a huge fan person, he loves his fans... At the Hanshaw fight, the day before... the hotel told us he stayed and signed autographs after his training session for 4 hours... there was 150 people there, and he didn't leave until every single person got an autograph.

Figures I wasn't there until Saturday.

Its like that sometimes. That day was the best boxing day of my life because of Roy and Shane Mosley. He was nice shook hands took pics. Hopkins showed the fans love as well but he had to back to the dressing room. Its cool that your a big Roy fan because he really respects his fans. I asked if he was gonna Knock out Calzaghe and he looked at me and said you know it! I wanted him to win that fight so bad.
