People respect those who take challenges period. Win or lose. If Floyd were to take on either Mosley or Cotto and dominate in a completely flawless, effortless manner, he would get mad respect from people who criticize him for taking "less risky" fights.

Its not a matter of, "well if he beats this guy, then there will always be someone else people want Floyd to fight". Thats always been BS.

Realize this.

Casual fans will want whatever fight HBO and PROMOTERS pitch and scam them into buying.

Boxing fans will always want the fights they KNOW will be great and competitive.

There was NOT a clamour, a huge demand for DLH/Mayweather. Boxing fans, writers, analysts knew it would mostly likely be a dry fight.

Only Hatton fans were requesting Hatton/Mayweather. Prior to Hatton calling out Floyd, that fight wasn't even a huge thought. Even after signed, you had people of merit saying Hatton doesnt deserve to be in the ring with Floyd.

When a fighter is CONSTANTLY BADGERED about fights like Floyd has such as Mosley and Cotto, you KNOW those are the fights boxing fans want to see. We ALL want to be able to give Floyd the props he deserves. He just first has to earn them.

Thats the thing though. When one talks about tough fights and floyd mayweather, they talk about the PAST. They talk about the lightweight days, the pre lightweight days.

Yes they want to see him truly tested and like I said in previous posts is it his fault his competition has fallen short of their expectations? Same deal with Roy Jones right...until Roy got KTFO then it was different for Roy now everyone doubting him and even in a a$s whooping (sorry Reed) he took for the Cal Slapper (sorry Calzaghe Fans) people respected him more in that loss then in the first 40 some odd wins and the 4 years that not one opponent was able to make it standing to the final bell. they respected him more because he proved to them he was human like them. he bleed and looked like a beaten warrior. he made it to the final bell standing up he may have lost that fight but he regained what many thought he lost his dignity after being able to come back from 3 big losses and 2 devastating knock outs to make it to the biggest stage once again right?

Well Floyd hasn't been tested like that maybe not in the minds of most of the fans haters and huggers alike. What will all the fans say when they find out he is human and he bleeds just like us? When he is tested and he comes out and prevails. Honestly I think he has passed a few tests Zab tested him if even for only a few rounds. He tested his ability to maintain his composure in the ring. The low blows and the side show with the trainers and his Uncle Roger all that could have distracted Floyd he might have retaliated and lost on a Dq or better yet got distracted and ended up toes up at the sky right?

Maybe he was tested right? How about when fought Chico who at the time was a monster at 135 everyone thought he was going to lose that fight right? He mangled Chico no diss to Chico he was a warrior through and through but Floyd just outclassed him that day. Not many can match skills let alone boxing wits with Floyd in the ring. most people fans and foes alike don't give him enough credit for the little things he does in the ring. Rolling his shoulder keeping his chin tucked in bringing his punches back quickly and moving his head. The purity of the sweet science he so perfected and makes look easy. Foot work and balance is the most important thing in boxing ask any fighter trainer and boxing guru and they will tell you it is all about foot work. He has great foot work and speed amazing at that he creates angles for him to punch without getting anything fired back in return. Like ****m said "swim without getting wet" Floyd does a lot of little things that go unnoticed in fighters until they stop doing them and then boom! they get KTFO....If you have ever stepped foot inside a ring and laced up some gloves sparred a few rounds or fought professionally then you can respect what it is that Floyd does and makes it look so easily.

Judah had tremendous talents but much of it wasted because he failed to progress he stopped training hard or took fights lightly gave up in the face of adversity. People don't see Floyd as ever have being tested because maybe when things are getting hard for him in the ring he don't let on for people to see it as easily as others maybe because he turns it up another notch maybe it is because he has the extra notch there all the time. You dial it up and he turns it up higher if you are going to hate Floyd don't hate him for what you think he has not proved but hate for what he has proved time and time again that he is truly great. Don't look at the fighters he hasn't fought look at the ones he has fought and beaten. It is always easy to stand around stamp our feet and cry about what people haven't given us but not enough of us stand up and applaud when we get something good....Lefty

I agree and I think he has done that at 130-135...he made his bones down there and moved up for bigger money fights just like Manny is doing right now. So please explain the difference to me. manny moved up to 147 to fight Oscar and then dropped back down to 140 because manny beat Oscar at 147 is now considered a true WW and he must now fight everyone the public is demanding for? If that be true then screw it manny vs Williams I want to see that tree get chopped down by Manny PACMAN Pacquioa so make it happen. i am not a casual fan and I think it would be truly amazing to see him take out a step stool and stand on it just to aim a jab at that power forward of a fighters face.

If they love you they will pay to see you win if they hate you they will pay to see get KTFO....Either way they pay right? i guess Floyd is taking a page out of ALi's book....many hated Ali when he was active but after he retired from boxing more and more appreciated him. Will it be the same for Floyd? Oscar has retired and I know there was alot of hate towards Oscar and right now it is too soon but eventually will he be appreciated by even his biggest haters? Say what you can about the game and hate on it but don't hate on the players for playing. They can only do what you the fans allow them to do.
