in short no, Vitali if he develps further, possibly, Toney will not be consider an all toime great Heavyweight he has probeved **** all as yet and doesnt have enough time to cememt a legacy at Heavy. Byrd sorry no scraping by contender sof a bygone era does not earn the right to be up there with the greats, Ruiz hell no, its pretty dire to be honest.

Tyson and Evander WERE greats, the emphasis on were.

I asssume by great we are talking top 25 heavies of all time.
Vitali potentially but he has a lot of work to do yet.

I agree. NONE of thse clowns will ever be thought of as great. I find it funny people are saying "Klitschko could in the future" when Vitali is already past his prime. Look at him at 28 years old and look at him now-he has already begun to slip. His best days are behind him (as a fighter, not in terms of accomplishment) and the resume really doesn't come close to stacking up. And you can't be great without beating a great opponent and/or cleaning out the division you're in over a long period of time. Klitschko blew his chance at beating an old great opponent in Lewis and I don't think he's gonna be champ for the next 4-5 years . . .

Im not sure vitali is past his prime, just a minor point we know that actual age doesnt necessarily point out the actual age in fighters terms, look at Tyson for example to Lewis, one peaked in his early twenties the other in his mid thirties you simply cant generalise.

But like you i think Vitali is beatable and would be surprised if he goes unbeaten for the next 4-5 years but not sure (outside my british and even south east london bias of Danny williams) whoi is going to do it.

When you look at the great heavyweights that have gone before like Dempsey, Louis, Marciano, Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Tyaon etc. and then compare it to the current crop, I don't think there is any comparison.

Exactly!!! None of the current heavies compare to these guys. There's no way that Vitali will be as great as any of these guys, or Byrd for that matter...

Lewis didn't peak in his mid-30s that's just when he solidified his dominance in the division. Look at Lewis vs Morrison and Briggs and then Lewis vs Rahman and Tyson. He was not at his peak at 35-36 . . .
