Just scored Hopkins - Calzaghe again...

How anyone can score this fight for Hopkins is beyond me. I can't score rounds for fighters who throw 1 punch a round and are dirty cheaters. Hopkins leant in with his head after he threw every right hand going for headbutts, he also hit behind the head frequently (so did Calzaghe though), he intentionaly low blowed Calzaghe and he also faked many low blows which wern't low blows (which caused him to win a round on my card because he took a breather and got to throw more effective punches that round).

    Debatable rounds:
Round 4 - I gave it to Calzaghe on workrate
Round 10 - I gave it to Hopkins (even though he cheated) he took a breather and managed to land the more effective punches after that.

I gave Hopkins a 10-8 round in the 1st round, i gave him the 2nd round 10-9 and i gave him round 10 at 10-9 even though he cheated.

Every other round was Calzaghes. Final score 116-111 Calzaghe. Not even close.

Hopkins leans in with his right. He's not going for a headbutt.

So many headbutts in that fight. I would have had it more for Calzaghe if Hopkins didn't take that breather in the 10th. What was he playing at? It's straight out cheating because he knew he was tired and losing the fight.

I've had it 115-112 to Calzaghe on three viewings. Like you said, a few tricky rounds to give but it's still horrendous match to watch.

I've scored it 3 or 4 times, at least. I have it 114-113 Calzaghe everytime, and I'm a fan of both guys...

It was a close fight, but I can't give it to Hopkins.

I'll add in Round 3 as a debatable round. But Calzaghe's middle stint won him the fight. Hopkins was effective for the first 4 rounds until Calzaghe adapted to his style. He started landing clean left hands on Hopkins and out working him every round. Hopkins's stamina issue and limited punch output is a bad style match up for Calzaghe's good stamina and high workrate. That's all it is, a bad style match up for Hopkins. I don't see the need for a rematch that would be silly.

i had it 115-113 hopkins i thought calzaghe did absolutely nothing but miss the first 8 rounds. hopkins at least landed a few flush right hands and counter shots. i don't give calzaghe credit for his ineffective aggressivness.
