Boxing fans who do not support fighters from their own country are pathetic.

I cannot understand how someone could go to a boxing match and not be a part when their OWN national anthem is being played, I mean that anthem is something that has been bred into us from the age of 4/5 years old.

Of coarse i dont, but you still have to listen his tripe when you are waiting for a fight to come on. No i dont switch over because i record the whole Broadcast on DVD.

I always record entire broadcasts as well. Bunce used to annoy me, but after a while I couldn't stop myself laughing at him...and now I quite enjoy his whole thing. Laughs and news is what I get out of it, I don't really count on him for opinion.

The reason many UK fans always get so gutted on here is because their loyalty to their own goes beyond common sense. They put their heart and soul into their countrymen no matter if it defies logic.

Professional Boxing is an individual sport. As someone else said, it is not a Us against them Sport. If you have that mentality, no matter from what country you are from, you will always miss out. You will always end up disappointed.

Why was Hatton **** on by his fans in here after the Manny fight? Because they could not grasp him losing. They felt so gutted, many even turned on him. Some fans they are.

I understand what you're saying. It isn't just Bunce, though, British boxing coverage as a whole is rife with fist-pumping overtones. I actually find Sky's coverage to be far more insidiously nationalistic and laced with overbearingly earnest Bulldog Pride (Dave Clark I especially can't stand) - I think because Bunce is so comical, convivial and knowingly two-faced, I can't get too mad at the guy. He's just a schmoozy bozo who tells people what they want to hear 95% of the time.

Yeah agree, its a shame people cant see through Steve when he is appealing to their dumber/ignorant side in order to make himself and the show more popular
