Boxing Focusing On The Wrong Marquez This Week

By Jake Donovan - The Marquez name has appeared everywhere you look these days.

It’s in the headline of at least one article on every boxing site every day this week. Press releases flood the inboxes of boxing writers around the world regarding every move Marquez makes during this week’s bi-continental press tour.

All praise is due to those involves for getting boxing fans to utter Marquez’ name this week.

Only they have everyone talking about the wrong one.

Somewhere buried deep beneath the hype surrounding “Number One/Numero Uno” marks the return of one of the sport’s greatest action heroes. Former two-division champion Rafael Marquez reacquaints himself with a boxing ring for the first time in more than 14 months this Saturday when he faces Jose Francisco Mendoza in Monterey, Mexico. well you sort of can if you live in texas or in the west coast. here in Los Angeles you can watch the fight on Azteca America Box for free. good thing is that on top of that you also have the B.A.D card on HBO as well. good weekend for boxing.

I just got your PM. It looks as though I will get to watch all of these fights after all  The Azteca card is great.

            :yeha:

Thanks for the heads up on the pm.

There's no B.A.D. card this weekend. They come back next week with Berto-Urango - unless something else is being shown in some markets this Saturday that the rest of the boxing world seems to be unaware of.

I'm eager to hear how he looks, it will be interesting to see if he looks like he did before the trilogy.
