    LOS ANGELES - On Saturday, June 27th, Golden Boy Promotions returns to Los Angeles' STAPLES Center with two World Championship bouts that will kick off the summer fight season in explosive fashion. In the main event, Oxnard's "Vicious" Victor Ortiz faces Marcos Maidana for the interim WBA World Super Lightweight Title and in the co-feature, Chris John and Rocky Juarez meet in an explosive rematch for the WBA World Featherweight Championship after their first bout on February 28th was scored a draw and left fans wanting more.     Since when has Ortiz been from Oxnard? Last time he fought up North in the Shark Tank, he said he was from Kansas i believe....

        Yea he is from Kansas but moved to Oxnard. He still shows alot of love for Kansas tho. Future super star right here from Kansas.

                  Although I believe Vicious Vic is ready for the likes of Tim Bradley, Kendall Holt, or Kotelnik (which he was supposed to fight before Amir Khan's panzie ass butted in), I can't wait to see this fight!

                  Both Victor Ortiz and Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios are originally from Kansas, the father & son training power-house of Eduardo and Robert Garcia persuaded both to come to Oxnard and polish up on there awesome raw talent.

                  Not a bad combination if you ask me...

                    hell no it wont sell out. ill say maybe 12 thousand at the most. Marg vs. Mosley had the biggest crowd ever at staples, i think it was 18 thou and some change
