GBP had a piece of Guzman a year or 2 ago, but they lost interest and sold their piece back to Sycuan. Top Rank now has a co-promotional deal with Sycuan on Guzman.

But maybe someone can explain to me why in this day and age, where PPV slots are so valuable, a prime spot would be given by GBP-Mayweather on their show, to a Top Rank fighter that they have no interest in? Not to mention GBP and Diaz can make FAR more $$ by keeping Diaz' Aug 22 HBO date in Houston.

Also, with Floyd and JMM getting all the money, where exactly would $1 million plus come from to put this fight on the PPV?

This "story", which coincidentally came from Guzman's publicist, makes NO SENSE on so many levels it isnt even funny.

I reached out to a few people and no one has heard of this from the Diaz side so to me its like when Leon from btalk says "yo my man allan green gonna fight dat bumb froch" only to use it as a calling out ploy and not an actual fight agreement

if so then let's see what they submitted to GBP who handles Diaz

what I have heard are they are either looking at the UC of July 18th against someone somewhat easy to get back into the swing of things and then fight in Sept or Oct or take the August headlining date and go against a much better opponent

I'm no fan of any of these promoters including the Golden Boy and Arum but the TS is trying to make Mayweather Promotions seem like a heroic promotional company when this undercard hasn't even been finalized yet. If we get an undercard that's total dog**** than Floyd should have to shoulder some of the blame along with Oscar.
