I agree, he's not really chinny at all. He's caught some truly monstrous shots, and is prone to getting caught, which is why people assume he's not got the best chin. I'd rate his chin (from 1 to 10) at about an 8, give or take a tad.
The guy has the talent and ability, just not (currently) the skills. Against guys who are typically smaller (Cruiser), he does great because he doesn't pay as much for fighting in a crouch and his low guard. Against a big heavyweight, with fairly quick hands and a very high skill level with devastating power, he'll be screwed.
