YOu have to remember that he won the Gold medal thus the name The Golden Boy, which means he was already a hot commidoity coming into the pros. Then you combine that with his looks and the fact that he's not fighting the #1 boxer in his 1st fight, and you will see that he never got the lesser amount of money or 50/50. To me, if you lose the first match you shouldn't get the bigger cut unless there are other factors.
Like the fighter who beat you taking a decline in their career or a su****ious win. Even if you improve a lot you're the challenger with a point to prove.
Against Whitaker and Chavez he may have recieved the smaller purse.Comment

Oscar was a tough people to negiotate with, He should have taken less or 50-50 for the Tito rematch and the Mosley third fight imo, I like the fact that both Tito and Mosley looked the other way when he refuse to do that even though they went on to lose to B-hop and Winky.Comment
