First of all, Manny didn't start his career at 140, he moved up 9 divisions to get to 140. he is at the tailend of his career and fighting at 140 is probably his optimum weight.

Second, Cotto and specially Mosley are the ones who's calling out Pacquiao to fight them. Is there an unwritten rule out there for any current # 1 P4P boxer to fight all comers at their respective weight divisions? They want Manny, then they should come and get him.

And lastly, If they can't accept Roach's terms, then they should fight someone their own size. It is that simple...
Don't quite know what you're getting at there, mate...

Look, all I'm saying is if Pac's weight is 140 now and it will hurt his chances of beating anyone above that, then stay at 140 and fight the guys there. I don't think making guys come down to 142 to fight from 147 is fair AT ALL. Just because they are challenging doesn't mean they have to accept. But if they do, make it a fairly reasonable fight rather than a lobsidedly advantageous fight for Manny. Roach won't let Manny come down to 135 now cause it will hurt him too much to make the weight, but its fine for big guys to come down to 142? Make fights against Welters at 145 and that's fine by me.

From a neutral perspective, freddy roach looks like a genius. He gets his fighter the biggest paydays to fight guys who are underweight. That's pretty incredible. From a fans perspective, it's annoying. Would he compromise a competitive edge, and his fighters safety, to please the fans? I don't see why he would. Are the fans going to stop paying for the fights? Definitely not. Are fighters going to stop signing huge contracts to fight him at weights they can't reasonably make? Nope. I don't see a solution to the problem.

Exactly, well put. The only solution would be to make a reasonable compromise in weight, or not make the fight at all. But Roach knows Pac's only chance against Cotto or Mosley is to fight anorexic versions of them. It's all a ploy to enhance Pac's resume and turn him into this GOAT. But IMO his only chance of being considered the greatest, is by fighting these guys at their weights. He doesn't even have to neccessarily beat them, but fighting these big guys at their weight and putting up a fight, combined with his previous accomplishments will definitely make him a contender for the best fighter of all time.

Pacman is in a no-win situation imo. If he decides to settle at 140 and fight jr. welterweights exclusively, clean up and unify the division then retire, I'm sure there will still be bashers and haters out there masquerading as boxing writers/scribes/boxing pundits saying Pacman ducked Cotto/Mosley/Floyd at 147.

You just said Pacman should fight Cotto/Mosley at 147 or stay at 140. Would that be fair for Pacman if he'll fight both guys at 147? Like what I said, same day weigh-in, if the fight is at 147. An hour and a half before the actual fight.

Have you seen/read/heard Freddie Roach/Pacman challenging lightweights at any time? It's already unprecedented in boxing that a boxer moved up in weight that fast. Most boxers are killing themselves to make weight just to gain an unfair advantage against fellow boxers. Pacman decided to move up in weight if he feels he's not comfortable at that weight anymore. He relied on his skills/power/speed to pull through against heavier adversaries. And if Roach/Pacquiao agreed to fight welterweights at 145, they didn't do it to please you, they did it because it was amenable to them ...

I don't think Manny would accept a fight with Mosley at any weight. The guy's too dangerous (46 wins, 39 KO's) and has too good of a chin. Manny's people are too smart to even consider it.

It is, however, a fight I'd really like to see.

People seem to forget that pacman moved up to 147 to make a mainstream name for himself

there is no further need to place himself in that kind of danger anymore, he is now the draw, if people want to face him they should have to do it on his terms!

These people who really want/begging Pac to fight at 147 are mostly Pac haters who just wanted him to lost.

If anybody wants a piece of him, it must be on acceptable/fair term in both side. Sorry Mosley, the winner of Marquez vs Mayweather fight will get him.
