The thing Is Calzaghe achieved a lot more in his career, P4P number 2, undefeated, won all his toughest fights etc and he gets no praise.

Not much hate on here because he was undefeated, if he lost his last fight it would be the same way!

People say Hatton was the 140lb king but i disagree...He just had the right fight with Tzyou at the right time. Why didn't he fight Cotto,Torres,Holt,or Witter as a 140 lb? After he beat Tzyou, he beat Maussa,Castillo,Malignaggi and Urango at 40. Hardly a good resume.

Hatton wasn't that good, he had a bad defense and he didn't fight any good fighters at 140 for awhile now. Paulie was a good win for him, but I wanted him to fight bradley, holt, or torres. Why did he never fight any of them? Did he avoid them? And I pick all three of them to beat him, unless he is able to do his clinching style on them.

the kid has mad heart...he made it along way hving short arms and limited boxing skills..his only loses came from p4p champs..the man deserves respect seriously..plus he has a great personality
Right on. As i said in another thread. He took on a high level of competition for years. He reached out for greatness and fell short. That alone makes him a real champion.

Joe Calzaghe never took the chances Hatton took. Not even close.

                  No hate on Ricky, here.

He stepped up and did his job.

Worse thing he did in his entire career was disrespect Floyd in front of thousands.

But he stepped in there with the king and fought his heart out.

Earned his money the hard way.

Put it in to perspective like this Judah went the distance w/ Mayweather and David Diaz lasted longer and shot DLH against Pacman
