Yes, I know I ****ed up the poll my apologies I was typing fast.

Is it something to do with bad stamina? Or just a boring tactic to beat some opponents or a bit of both?

Ward was doing it because he was afraid to get hit by Miranda, pisses me off though because it ****s everything up. As soon as there is a clinch everything stops, it becomes boring as hell.

Clinching can be boring but is sometimes used as part of a fighters strategies depending on the fighter they are fighting.

Mosley clinched against Margarito after he got his shots off to stop Margarito getting anything off. This meant Margarito couldn't get anything going because he wouldn't of found Mosley from the outside, His only way to win was to get inside and throw.

Hopkins used clinching against Winky and Calzaghe to slow down their high output.

          Exactly. This topic hardly threadworthy.

            clinching
            1-cuts down workrate
            2-stops counter punches
            3-saves stamina

it can be boring but its a smart stratagy

Depends. In fights like Joe C-Lacy and SSM-Marg, the guys doin the tactical boxing held a lot, but there were emore than enuf punches mixed in that it didn't lull the fight or come off as dirty. Ward just plain stunk up the house last nite. I was damn glad I didn't invite anybody over for fight nite yesterday. I already got some saltiness for Pac-Hatton 2 weks ago.
