At least Hatton fought the best in their primes and took risks. Apart from Kessler, i can't think of one decent fighter who Joe took on in their prime. Even then Kessler was good, not top ten p4p. Lacy was unproven and turned out to be ****, and despite still having the tools and probably winning the fight, B-Hop was 43 and not quite as active as when he KO'd Tito. Robin reid wouldn't even make top 30 p4p at the time, and that fight could have gone either way. Eubanks was 5 years past his prime and got battered by collins twice, but taking the fight on 10 days notice still managed to make Joe fight for his life. Look closer to home before making fun out of Ricky
yes calzaghe should have lost to robin reid and hopkins. yes the only decent prime opponents he ever fought were kessler and lacy. yes he got beat up by sakio bika. yes he picked on old shot fighters like eubank and jones jr. but do not forget i repeat never forget HE KO'D PRIME MARIO VEIT! in my mind that makes up for all his other bull.

I have to agree with that, he repeats himself over and over as well. He losses were to better fighters so should just shut up.

Most fighters make excuses after losing. Hatton's excuses do have some reasonable ground to stand on. Against Mayweather, the ref did play a part in Hatton not being able to do his best work and causing him to lose his head. Joe Cortez is a ***** ref and everyone knows it.
Against Manny, had he made it to the end of the second he could have calmed down, started to use his head more, settle into the fight and who knows maybe the fight would have been different. Sure he had a ***** first round, but Marquez got knocked down 3 times in the first against Manny and look what happened there. Plus, he wasn't doing too bad in the second and although Manny was winning, it was actually a pretty close round up to the KO.

They are excuses yes, but they have some merit. I don't think Ricky is saying he would have won any of those fights with different circumstances, but he would have had a better chance.

                      No way.

Calzaghe never said Jones was Top 10 P4P when he fought him.
