Chad Dawson: The Bad

Speaking of Cloud I just read a long article over on Maxboxing and the basis of it was to explain Glen Johnson's situation. But toward the bottom Steve Kim was able to get a hold of Shaw and it sounds like Tavoris Cloud is the direction they might take. Dawson will either have to fight him or vacate his IBF strap. I think Cloud stands a good chance against Chad if he aint too ring rusty. It sucks that Glen is on his last leg though and Chad don't want none. It's also bull**** that the networks wouldn't accept his fight with Adamek. That would've been fireworks and Johnson would have got a decent payday.

Yes, if Johnson beat Adamek he would've cornered Dawson. But I doubt he would've beat Adamek. Anyway, I'm impressed by Cloud but not convinced. He does, however, have the pop and youth to make things a little hairy for Dawson. It's a worthwhile match-up but probably not near the top of Dawson's wishlist. Kinda like when Ike Quartey fought Jose Louis Lopez--although I don't think Cloud is quite in Lopez's league at the moment.

Yes, if Johnson beat Adamek he would've cornered Dawson. But I doubt he would've beat Adamek. Anyway, I'm impressed by Cloud but not convinced. He does, however, have the pop and youth to make things a little hairy for Dawson. It's a worthwhile match-up but probably not near the top of Dawson's wishlist. Kinda like when Ike Quartey fought Jose Louis Lopez--although I don't think Cloud is quite in Lopez's league at the moment.

I'm not sure about the competitive prospects of a Johnson-Adamek matchup because that is quite a bit of weight for Glen to gain at his age. The first part of your post might be true but he shouldn't have to beat Adamek to earn a fight with Dawson. His performance against Chad speaks for itself. I heard Chad and Cloud used to spar with each other and Tavoris claims he busted up Dawson. Of course it's speculation without proof. But I'm actually suprised that Shaw mentioned a Cloud fight. I don't know if he brings a big name that Chad obviously craves. But he should fight him if he's not gonna rematch Johnson.
