                MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO FIGHT PACQUIAO

                1. Be Ambidextrous - Manny Pacquiao is born ambidextrous. He is adept in using both hands in his day-to-day activities. He can use either hand in eating, throwing darts, or shooting basketball. But because of the Old Wives Tales, that of the left hand being unlucky, he rarely use both.
Roach has taught him to be like Jack Dempsey. Because of Roach, Manny will not hesitate to use both his both hands if the occasion requires it... like in boxing.

If you're not ambidextrous, then at least be...

                2. Be right-hand dominant - The Old Wives Tales are right after all. If you're born left-handed like David Diaz or Oscar de la Hoya, OR if your dominant power shot is your left hand like Hatton, then count yourself unlucky - there is a hook waiting to counter you.

If you're right hand dominant, then you need to learn to...

                3. Be a counter-puncher - Wait for Manny Pacquiao to come to you, timing your punches, just like Juan Manuel Marquez. If you don't have the speed, reflex, hand-eye coordination and superb timing of Marquez, count yourself unlucky again. De la Hoya tried to be a counter-puncher against Pacquiao, unfortunately Oscar's physicality is of subpar standard and what makes it worst he's left-hand dominant.

                4. Box technically with Pacquiao - Only technical masters can pull it off though (e.g. Marquez). Speed, timing and accuracy are the bread and butter of Pacquiao. His rhythmn don't have a regular pattern, making it hard to predict and time.

                5. Be Pavlik, Be Hopkins, better yet be Pacquiao - "Only Pacquiao can beat Pacquiao," Bernard Hopkins once said.

                DON'TS IN FIGHTING PACQUIAO

                1. Don't underestimate Pacquiao power punches - Remember that out of 54 fights of Pacquiao, 37 has ended in KO. That's 7 out of 10 knockout power.

                2. Don't spend all your power punch energy in the first few rounds - Pacquiao hasn't been knocked out by good to great fighters for almost a decade, so don't expect him to go down in the first few rounds.

                3. Don't wait for Pacquiao to get tired - Pacquiao has a reputation of having freakish stamina reservoir. The man is a throwback to an era where rounds are more than a dozen.

                4. Don't expect Pacquiao's speed to diminish due to weight - Remember that since 2004, Pacquiao is used to entering the ring as essentially a welterweight (146 lbs. during his 1st Marquez fight).

                5. Don't overrelly on hugging - Pacquiao hands are blistering fast during inside exchanges. Manny also prove over and over again, that he has the quick reflex to move his head away from uppercuts after an inside exchange.

                6. Don't rely solely on blocking the punches with gloves - Pacquiao has long added to his offensive arsenal fake jabs, up and down feints, with 3 or 4 punch fast combos from different angles. Manny smart fast footwork also ensure of him having high percentage of accurate punches landing when faced with gloves blockage alone (e.g. Diaz, De la Hoya and Hatton)

                7. Don't follow Pacquiao in the ring without punching - Pacquiao moves in and out, side to side, throwing trajectory angle power punches while moving at an unpredictable direction at an uncanny speed.

                8. Don't block Pacquiao's way without head movement - Fighters who stood directly in front like a statue with the intent of cutting off Pacquiao's movement has received the worst beating (e.g. Diaz, Hatton).
basically--be floyd mayweather jr who is also ambidextrous and throws much smoother punches with so much better technique...he rarely throws sloppy punches, whether he is feinting or going backwards, leaning backwards, whatever the case...he has the smoothes technique i have ever seen...all of the things you listed, floyd has and much more...
