Overall I think he's probably top 17-25 but no doubt he's underrated. Around the time where he beat Tito, Holmes, and those guys he was a beast. Everyone use to say that Hagler wouldve killed him but thats BS. Aint no one killing that Hopkins. He wouldve gave Hagler major problems.

Top 5-10 is super high because boxing has been around for a million years and there have been alot of great boxers. People forget how good alot of guys were. There are guys in the top 50-80 that are monsters

No matter how you scored it, in no rounds did RJ dominate him. They were all fairly close rounds with RJ skimming out most of them. 7-5 or 8-4 but all tough rounds. By far his toughest fight until Tarver and that was a totally raw Hopkins. He wouldve gave RJ hell that 2nd time. He was in his prime and a beast at that stage and as we saw later on, he had no problems moving up to LHW let alone SMW. He wouldve been a problem for RJ, no doubt
he would've been knocked out if he fought jones at light-heavyweight
and when jones had both his hands
but yea, i give hopkins his dues, but make a poll about it, goin up fighting bigger competition all the time beats makin small guys come up and beating on them

He has fought people coming up a fair bit but he is awesome. No doubt about it.
Everyone thought the Oscar fight would be a toss-up
Hopkins was underdog in the Tito, Tarver and Pavlik fights and he proved the experts wrong in all three of those fights. He beat an undefeated road warrior(30+-0)
He beat a very powerful and dangerous Echols, he beat a guy Joe Lipsey who was undefeated and had that Pavlik hype before the fight, Hopkins shut the train down. Hopkins is def an ATG, with a win over Froch or a win at CW, he'll cement his 10-15 ATG status.

IDK if RJ wouldve killed him at LHW considering how big and good looked at LHW against Tarver but dont forget, the fight was going to be at SMW. Hopkins moving up and RJ moving down

he (hopkins) like DLH doesn't even make the top 100 imo, vastly over rated and plays up to the underrated tag, makes himself out to be better than he actually is and calzaghe, jones and toney would have beat him.

If hopkins would be top 5-10 atg, what would that make Roy? There fight wasent close. Hopkins is great but there are too many greater fighters to justify a top ten position.

Lost very close fights with Slappy, RJJ, and Taylor, some believe he won the Slappy and Taylor fights. Defended the middleweight belt 20 times. Has other good wins over Allen, Joppy, Echols. Held the 4 major belts at 160 at once. Has been #1 at 160 and 175. Has been rumored at one final go around at CW or HW in search of a third division of dominance.

Let's all bow to the great Bernard Hopkins. HOF, ATG.

Who on earth thought he won the slappy fight?
