it's like instant messaging via text message. if i send an update from my mobile device and you're following me via mobila device (or my friend in short) anything i say will be sent to your phone. so if i say, "headed to the strip club on route 35" all my boys will get it. some might consider meeting me up there. some might send me a reply that not everyone will see like "@magnus which one the one with the fly chicks or the over the hill moms still trying to make a living". pretty much exactly what i said in the first sentence. instant messaging via text message.Comment

That's really very good. Thanks for all..Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other users' updates known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length which are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have subscribed to them (known as followers). Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow anybody to access them. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, Short Message Service (SMS) or external applications. The service is free to use over the Internet, but using SMS may incur phone service provider fees.Comment
