Why doesn't Floyd use his JAB more often?

I think Floyd needs to bring back his jab and continue to use it more often than he has in the past. But, I'm not a pro boxer so it's easy for me to say it. I just thought the "JAB" was the weapon to have as number 1 (like Roger said) and if you have Floyd's reach, why not use it as your main weapon?

Has Floyd watched to many Roy Jones Jr. fights?
Imagine if Roy concentrated on perfecting his JAB and used it more often.

I personally don't get. Anybody that actually boxes know why you would avoid using the jab?


Anybody have interview connections to ask Floyd this?

I guess he feels he doesn't need to use it. His str8 right hand is pretty damn good. And his other punches are established as well.

He cudda used it against DLH but Oscar was the taller fighter so maybe had difficulty landing it...

Probably b/c he doesn't have to. He likes to throw lead rights. Still, I know what you mean but I think Mayweather knows what he's doing in there.

you don't need to set up the right with a jab if you have his kind of speed.

Mainly because most of the guys he fought lately were bigger then him, and could have countered the jab. He did use his jab against Hatton when they were not hugging.
Floyd is a smart fighter and knows which tools to use exactly against different oponents.

The only time I seen him use the jab alot was against JLC. He has a great jab, I think he'll use it alot against Pacquiao.

If there's anything Floyd uses a lot, it is his jab. One round against Hatton he landed 11 out of 15 jabs on Hatton(his last fight). He doesn't lack in the Jab dept.

naw kev that was just in the 9th round and the commentaters even commented he didnt use it enough..he has a great jab but rarley uses it
