The Rogan and the olympians - Fight night thread

Can someone sum up in one post what happened tonight?

This is from my perspective under the influence of:

A. A poor stream

B. Vodka


Basically, Rogan seems to afford Sexton too much respect at times, and is hurt in the second round. He gets hurt a few more times, too, but also hurts Sexton. It goes how you might expect, Sexton outboxing Rogan, Rogan trying to rush him (though showing improvements in technique).

After seven rounds it's probably 4-3 Sexton (my card) and Rogan can only see out of one eye. His left is so badly swollen it looks like a vagina and I want to put my **** in it. Rogan's been to see the ringside Doctor at Parris's request twice so he KNOWS that he's probably only got one round before he gets pulled out.

Eighth round... he GOES FOR IT. Really tears into Sexton, Sexton is totally KTFO. If The Duke was commentating he'd be going "AND HE'S GONE - HE'S ABSOLUTELY GONE IN THERE!!!!!"

Sexton's staggering around, arms at his side, completely KTFO and appears to quit. Rogan, being a nice guy, doesn't want to harm a defenseless opponent so stands off and does nothing. Sexton, realising that Parris hasn't stopped it, fires off three crappy pit-a-pat punches and the fight resumes for about five seconds before Parris calls in the ringside Doctor... who holds up fingers for Rogan to see and asks him how many. When Rogan can't see out of his sealed eye, it's a Rogan loss.

I noticed that Sexton looked very confident in the pre-fight pictures. I'm a bit surprised Rogan lost, although it was always hard to imagine how Rogan could have beaten the top few guys in the division. Good on him though, he should be proud of what he's achieved.

lol at all the hating on sexton just because rogan is a plonker its not like sexton made the desicion to pull rogan. No1s been able to box rogan before sexton had a good performance and will be better in the REMATCH.

What were your scores? Bearing in mind I'm pissed then I had it 4-3 Sexton going into the eighth.

5-2 for sexton going into the eith. I gave the eigth untill the stoppage 10-8 to rogan.

But this is HW boxing.. regardless of points, Rogan had an 8th round TKO victory that Parris ****ed up.

true but i dont see why the hate for sexton its the refs fault. Its because i fairy tale storey got pissed all over.

There is that, but I think Sexton blagged it a bit. He seemed to quit to my eyes, then when he realised Parris wasn't stopping it he did a few pit-a-pats and went "look Dave, I'm still dangerous, better pull the Paddy out."

and anyone of us in that situation wouldnt do the same. Referring to a earlier hater post (cba to trawl and find) i think his mouth guard was punched out rather than spat would of been a deduction for sure.

For sure, I can't blame Sexton. He did what he had to do.

Did you see this on SKY? I saw it on a stream... Sexton looked totally KTFO to me... agree/disagree?
