come on, if Cotto almost took 12 rounds of plaster vs Marg, he could certainly take Tito's shots. If Cotto had a performance against Tito like he did against Marg, he knocks him out late. Tito doesn't have the greatest chin. Of course, Tito's patented testicle shot when in trouble can always change the course of a fight.

Honestly that would be a dangerous fight for Chavez because he was small in height to Tito. Chavez had an iron chin no doubt and he would have to fight inside and **** the body a lot, would have been interesting.
I agree with you, Cotto at this point isn't the fighter Tito was. No dissrespect to any Puerto Rican's here but that should be blasphamy to say Cotto would beat Tito at this point.
IMO there were only two PR fighters I would rank higher than Tito ever; Wilfredo Benitez and Wilfredo Gomez.Comment

I don't think so Cotto is a great fighter, its not like Tito is just going to own him every round -the guys a warrior. His agility is really underrated and his defense is tight; he's most valuable against straight rights only because he blocks his own vision with his hands too much. I see Cotto landing some fierce body shots and then chopping down Tito later rounds. Tito's great left hook isn't enough to stop Miguel, I'm still saying this would be one hell of a fight especially since their both PR's!Comment

If I may interject
Prior to the Mosley/Margarito showdown, nobody was cracking on Margs fighting ability. Everyone thought he was possibly the baddest mofo in a good long time at the division. So now everyone is cracking on Cotto's loss on it, when it was considered one of the best fights in modern history against two of the top WW since the Tito/DLH era. I mean why are we having short memories all of a sudden and down playing Cotto due to it? Sure he disgraced himself, but just 12 months ago Margarito was the talk of the town. Lets not downplay it now to fit your agendas.
Secondly, Tito would not ****/MURDER/DESTROY Cotto. It would be highly competitive and can go either way. Cotto's power is just a notch below Tito. People fold like tents when Cotto goes to the body. For all the physical gifts/advantages Tito had...he didn't always capitalize on them. He never used that reach, height. Just the left hook; and honestly, I will compare both men's left hook prowress.
And I would always favor a fighter who has more versatility in their arsenal. Cotto can box southpaw, orthodox, from the outside, inside. He can go bull headed or fight coming off angles. Tito only fights one way. Cotto may not put on a boxing clinic like WW or DLH did, but he sure enough do enough to throw Trinidad off his game plan.
They both have quality beards and take abuse. Margarito NEVER knocked down Cotto, even with the possibility of harden substances. The only time Cotto ever was hurt when the 140 lb limit was visibly sapping away at his power. At 147, he can take bombs with the best of them.
This fight is a toss up and I can see a KO for either of them and UD for Cotto; but to say that Tito trashes is premature. Cotto may very well be the second christening of the WW division. His resume is very solid and he is poised for bigger things.
They are both two of my favorite fighters and I probably wouldn't even watch it cause it'd be rather painful, but Tito just isn't going to sweep him like he's a D class fighter.
