Very smart move in my opinion. His uncle used to watch the tapes and then tell Cotto what to do. Now his uncles is no longer training him, and he has been watching tapes of Clottey. I think it's a good move on Equipo Cotto's part as well as taking training camp to Florida. Man I can't wait for Cotto-Clottey!
Cotto is studying tapes of his opponent now

Some fighters are just very good at adjustment so they can have their trainers study the ins and outs of the taping and go from there. It wouldn't hurt to look though.Comment

agreed - i think its always BS - how are you NOT going to do this, it's just a bad idea.
its like rubbing one out just after forgetting that 10 minutes earlier you applied bengay to your sore quad's and didn't wash your hands.Comment

Well if you watch tapes and expect a certain style, then come fight night you see a different style and can *** you over. Some people would rather just go to the ring and adapt.Comment

They have to study tapes.. I like many posters on NSB study tapes off my favorite fighter's opponents.. and I'm not even getting in the ring! If I was Cotto I would have stared at hours of Clottey fights before I even agreed to sign him.Comment

True, i mean if you are the Floyd Mayweather's or Bernard Hopkins of this world then yes you can adapt easilly. But a lot of boxers with lesser skill will find it much harder to adapt, and sometimes when they finally do adapt it's actually too late to win the decision.Comment
