    Pacquiao Itching To Fight Marquez!!

    Pacquiao itching to fight Marquez

    By Ronnie Nathanielsz

JUAN Manuel Marquez’s tactic of trying to get under Manny Pacquiao’s skin may be working as the world’s no. 1 pound-for-pound king now wants to settle the score with the Mexican.

Pacquiao’s business manager Eric Pineda told www.insidesports.ph, Standard Today and Viva Sports that the Filipino champion wants to fight Marquez, “to erase any doubt, once and for all.”

Pineda said that in both fights against Marquez, Pacquiao suffered cramps in his legs. “They hurt, since Manny’s power comes from his legs.”

Pineda said Pacquiao doesn’t appreciate the bad-mouthing from the Mexican.

“He wants to hammer Marquez. This time, it will be shorter than the [Ricky] Hatton fight,” said Pineda of Pacman’s TKO win, which ended in 2:59 seconds of the second round. The International Boxing Organization light welterweight champion was knocked senseless with a deadly Pacquiao left hand after being dropped twice in Round 1.

But Pacquiao-Marquez fight may have to wait since the Mexican signed to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. hours before Pacquiao’s showdown with Ricky Hatton at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in what has been criticized as a cheap attempt to try and steal the thunder from the Pacquiao-Hatton fight.

In his latest statement, quoted by Mark Vester of Boxing Scene, Marquez said his dream is to become the best. “To do that, I have to face the best. Pacquiao doesn’t want anything to do with me, so I decided to fight the best and that is Floyd Mayweather Jr.”

Golden Boy Promotions’ Oscar de la Hoya earlier claimed that no matter what people say, as far as he is concerned, Marquez beat Pacquiao in their two fights.

In their first fight, Pacquiao dropped Marquez three times in Round 1, before the Mexican counter-punched his way to salvage a draw. In the rematch, Pacquiao again dropped Marquez once in Round 3 to win a split decision and grab Marquez’s World Boxing Council super featherweight title.

a marquez 3rd was always part of pac's plan. the unexpected big money offers to fight oscar and ricky delayed it though.

funny , how manny , ricky , juanma , oscar and floyd are all connected recently.

after the pac-jmm fight at 130 , pac fought diaz to grab a belt at 135. pac and jmm could have fought again at 135 but floyd pulled out with his fight with oscar and oscar needed an opponent. ricky wanted to wait 'til this year to fight oscar so oscar picked manny. since manny unexpectedly beat oscar , hatton-pac got made. right before ricky and pac fought , floyd announces his return with a fight with jmm. lol

Pacquiao ducked Marquez to take on drained and shot fighters instead, because he knew if he lost to Marquez officially that his big paydays were over.

Marquez knows who the best fighter is, and that is Mayweather Jr.

Marquez vs Mayweather is for the p4p title, billed Numero Uno.

After Mayweather beats Marquez, Pacquiao will be next in line. He can duck Floyd and fight his leftovers once again, which would be Marquez, or he can take on Floyd himself and after he loses rematch Marquez.

No, but he is clearly ducking Marquez.

He was called out several times, didn't even mention his name until he signed to fight with Mayweather. What a ducker!

diaz fight was planned before pac and jmm even fought the rematch.

manny was having problems making 130 and arum wanted him to win diaz's 135 belt.

after diaz , who knows who they planned to fight next. oscar needed an opponent.

oscar-pac was never planned. it just fell into pac's lap because floyd pulled out and hatton was having cold feet about fighting oscar. (for those talking crap about pac fighting oscar at 147......what weight do you think oscar-hatton would have been at? just a thought.)

pac wasn't suppose to beat oscar. gbp never thought pac could win. when he did , oscar-hatton got scrapped and pac-hatton ended up being made.

if marquez had just waited , he could have gotten the 3rd with pac. after oscar and ricky , jmm-pac would have been the next big fight.

jmm should blame golden boy promotions. they sold him out. without oscar and ricky fighting pac , the rubber match might have happened already.

This is the find that I wanted pac to have before he enters politics. I see marquez going down the canvass for the 5th, 6th and 7th time before saying "no mas"
