That plaster got hard and he started to **** Paul up in rounds 10 and 11. He actually made him bowl over from a single body shot around then too and gave Paul a knot to the head. He was most def in danger at that point in the fight. Sugar even gave Margarito credit for his power on going to the body btw. Paul was slowing down pretty bad (compared to the first half of the fight) until 12, I honestly don't know if he could've overcome 3 more rounds of plaster abuse despite the 1300 punch assault. Judges started to give Tony rounds based on the rockhands display. In a 15 round contest, the cheater might have pulled out the TKO... but how good is Williams to whoop a man even with plaster?

bsrizpac is right for the most part though, he does suck. I was on the wagon a bit (not on that most feared fighter tip) but fundamentally Margarito was showing to be pretty sound. He was parrying a lot of punches in the first half of the fight just to try and dig in some of those body shots (a lot of people missed this), but not doing too much outside of that. Later on, it got so bad Paul was clinching after almost every body blow it seemed. It's crazy that this was going on despite the Tornado being swallowed by punch output.

However, once we see the psychotic edge Margarito was giving himself with plaster, it's easy to see how his chin was holding up knowing you are in deep **** if the fight goes beyond 8 rounds in his mind. He beat Cotto on pure will knowing that plaster was going to harden.

It's not just going on the win definition when you look at the fighters in question. Cintron's and Judah's wins at welterweight don't compare. The guy was a few wins from being great.
