Are Roach and Arum running scared?

I don't care for Floyd Jr's big mouth or ducking serious welterweight threats. But in this case, if Floyd's objective is to eventually secure a fight with Pacquaio, then taking on JMM first is a brilliant move for many reasons. It is a big money fight to build up to the Pacman fight should he win, it lets him hone his skills against another excellent 'boxer/counter puncher', it puts him in a good bargaining position, probably makes him the #1 fighter PFP again if he wins JMM convincingly (not a sure thing), and it forces public pressure for the Pacman fight so Roach and Arum have a harder time ducking Floyd.
But in this case, it's looking more and more like Roach and Arum don't want there cash cow Pacman to fight PBF anytime soon. Yes, we've all heard about the catch weight nonsense, the 65/35 split for Bob Arum to try to preempt Floyd on the bargaining, but it's looking more to me now as making excuses to avoid PBF. Now, Pacman is a true warrior that will fight just about anybody they put in front of him including Floyd. Lately Roach is saying even more emphatically Cotto will probably fight Pacman before Floyd because Cotto's aggressive style suits Pac better and Floyd might run/dance all night and win an ugly fight on points or Pacman might win an ugly fight. He also said if Floyd really wanted to fight Pac, he would have waited on signing the JMM fight, so he basically wanted to hope to catch Floyd rusty in my opinion. The old trick of fighting at a catch weight to weaken the opponent won't work either in this case because Floyd can make 143 easier then the bigger Welters like Cotto. Roach has said Floyd will never fight Pacman because he's scared of Pacman but who actually believes that nonsense. It's just preemptive 'smoke and mirrors' PR spin to put blame on Floyd if the fight never happens. In fact, I see Floyd licking his chops over the thought of the money a Pacman/PBF fight would generate.

Roach has a keen eye for handpicking opponents recently.... FMJ deffinitely does not fit the bill!

There really shouldn't be any doubt that the Pacman will eventually face Mayweather in a mega-fight. Every boxing fan wants to see this happen and I believe it will. JAT

pacquiao will probably retire by next year.

i don't really think "preserving his cash cow" would be arum's motive.

pacquiao don't have many fights left.

Roach and Arum are pansys, this fight may not be made guys dont kid yourself. Mayweather is gonna want more money and Freddie roach is a smart guy he knows Mayweather would beat him from pillar to post. roach has a huge ego and always wants to be #1.

I think so too, All you gotta do is hear Roach keep bringing up Cottos name. He never mentions Mayweathers name.
