For a fighter like Floyd, who relies on speed, timing, accuracy and stamina, a nearly two-year layoff is /should be a death knell. Marquez SHOULD beat Floyd. Weight disadvantage be damned. I think we all agree that timing, speed, stamina, and sharpness erode with a protracted absence from the ring.

Now, if/when Manny fights Floyd, he will be facing what is - in MY EYES - a diminished version of Mayweather.

THIS IS IN NO WAY AN EXCUSE. Floyd decidd to take the time off, so he should bear the consequences of his decisions. Still, Manny will be getting a highly inactive Mayweather who would have had one fight in two years by the time they fight this winter.
