Fact is, at this point, its who's hot and who the public wants to get behind.

Its pretty obvious pac would be just fine fighting cotto instead of floyd and calling it a day. Its floyd who wants to regain the title so he will be at pacquiao's mercy.

Pacquioao doesnt need floyd. But for floyd to accomplish what he wants, he has to go through pacquiao.

rafael isn't the type of writer to pull **** out of his ass. He can be kind of a arrogrant prick to read sometimes, but he's reliable. If he says 800k+ then that is the number. It is a really impressive number. Considering that in a much, much better economy, mayweather (against a much more credible hatton) barely beat those numbers is very telling.

so the fight bombed what did they expect that pac was going to sell like money mayweather. they are all trying to cover their asses because they spen all that money advertising and promoting the fight and it only did around 600,000 probably less then that

so they trot fat boy dan out and that snake steve kim at max boxing to say the fight did around 800,000 eventhough arum and HBO haven;t released numbers.

the whole manny is the greatest campaign is falling all around them, floyd will crush marquez and do close to 1 million buys and then guess what happens.

pac will have to fight floyd at 65/35 or their won't be a fight. pac can't fight oscar or ricky again ( oh **** maybe he can like he fought morales again after knocking him out)

so his options are to either fight a dangerous opponent at 140 and defend his "lineal" title or try and get a fighter like cotto or mosley to drain weight to fight him, which based on the number coming from the hatton fight is not happending.


meanwhile floyd can say screw manny go fight nate or tim and I will fight cotto or mosley if you don't like my terms.
I doubt manny picks to fight nay black fighter at 140 since they are too skilled and too dangerous, same way hatton avoided black fighters at 140
