    Hatton: Manny pacquiao embarassed me

    HATTON: MANNY PACQUIAO EMBARASSED ME

Hatton believes he is closer to Manny Pacquiao than the fight showed

RICKY Hatton has admitted that Manny Pacquiao 'embarassed' him in Las vegas 10 days ago.

The Hitman said he had been humiliated and still didn't like going out in public following his return to the UK from the United States.

But he has still not ruled out a return to the ring after his devastating loss to the Filipino superstar.

He said: "I haven’t watched the fight yet. I don’t know whether I will watch it. It has been embarrassing for me.

"What I vaguely remember is that no sooner had the bell rang when I went down, then again. I felt I was doing well in the second round and he nailed me again.

“It has been difficult to take for me. It is just embarrassing really.

"I know he is not that much better than me.

"Before I could get warmed up he nailed me. I felt I hurt him in the second round, but no sooner had I hurt him than he nailed me again.

“I couldn’t think of anything the next morning. My mind was in 50 different places going over different scenarios. You won’t hear the last of me in boxing, but the physical side of fighting is the last thing that should be on my mind right now.

"I just want to rest, recharge my batteries and get life back to normal."

Hatton, 30, has been urged to retire by many fans and friends after the worst defeat of his glittering career.

But he is tempted to get back through the ropes for one final curtain call in front of his adoring supporters, who have made him the most popular British fighter of recent times.

The former two-weight world champion, who has opened the Ricky Hatton Health and Fitness gym in Hyde, Manchester, said: “I’m still devastated about it and spending time with my family is my priority now, so I can’t say what I am going on to do.

“Getting back to reality is what I’ve got to do, having a holiday with my son and the sooner I can make the decision the better. Once I get back to normal I’ll be in a position to decide what I want to do.

“I’m not saying it is over yet, but I am not in a position to make a final call. My head was in bits after the fight and I am still in recovery mode. It all happened so quickly. I can remember the first two knock-downs coming so quickly and my head cleared a bit between rounds, but not enough.

“When I go out for a walk it’s not very nice. People are being very kind to me. I’ve not read a report on the fight and I’ve not bothered with the internet, but the genuine fight fans have been like a rock for me. They were that way after the Mayweather fight and they have been that way again to me.”

Hatton lost for only the second occasion in the pro ranks against Pacquiao and was also dogged by problems with his trainer, Floyd Mayweather snr, whose timekeeping in the run-up to the fight was hit and miss.

But Hatton has not blamed his ex-trainer for the Pacquiao defeat, though it hardly helped.

He delivered one of the most compelling performances ever seen by a British boxer in beating Russian-born, Australia-based Kostya Tszyu four years ago on a memorable night in his home town of Manchester to capture the ‘linear’ light-welterweight world title. He followed that up with several notable victories, but in between he lost his unbeaten record to Floyd Mayweather jnr.

Hatton recovered to beat Juan Lazcano last year in front of 56,000 fans at the City of Manchester stadium and Paulie Malignaggi six months ago, but his world came crashing down in Las Vegas as Pacquiao demolished him.

Hatton’s father and manager Ray has told his son he will adhere to any decision he makes, but is mindful of the fact that the Hitman does not want the final image British supporters have of him in the ring to be lying prone on a Las Vegas canvas.

“I am not saying I am the best British fighter by any means, but I don’t think any British fighter has had a following like me,” said Hatton.

“They must like the way I fight and like me as a person and for what I stand for. Right now I don’t feel like showing my face, but the sooner I get out there and deal with all of this, the better.”

No ****. I wonder how many English cats actually bet their houses on him. Big as Hatton's following is, I wouldn't be surprised if some did.

ok, this comment is a sign that:

              1: you got braindamage.
2: you need to retire from professional boxing.

              is this guy serious? .

So, that's what a Hatton wonderland is all about...the man actually thinks Manny isn't much better than him...David Diaz lasted longer putting up his hands more so to defend than Hatton ever did. The way Hatton fought, he was inviting a massive bomb to land with his chin hanging out to dry and his hands down. Manny simply took advantage of that. Hatton's youth beat Kostya, and he never did anything else of importance because his style is pretty damn horrid.

This is why i dislike Hatton, he thinks he is better than he really is when he is just a second tier fighter, and that had been proven twice in devastating fashion.

                  That is no coincidence.

Dont retire Ricky i want to see you get annihilated again. All ive heard from Hatton since that fight is him intimating that is was a lucky shot and that he could beat Pacquiao.

None of that is true. He was set up for the knockout and Pacquiao beats him anyday of the week because Hatton cant take what he can dish out.
