    Thanx
Of course they follow the official weigh-in. Answers are what they would weight at fight night? Probably :

    1) Pac 148/ JMM 147

    2) Floyd 151/ JMM 148

    3) Pac 151/ Floyd 155

Note: These three walks around at 151 lbs. and above.

But there is a reason why they have official weigh ins the day before a fight. Boxing weight issues dont solely revolve around what their weights are at fight night.

If Pac was so comfortable at 148...why would he weigh in officialy at 142 against delahoya and 138 against hatton??

If human bodies really reacted the way this fight night logic works....then Pac could have easily weighed in officially at 140 against hatton and stayed at 147 official weigh in against delahoya. But he didnt....because at his physical peak of conditioning after training camp....Pacquiao and Marquez are actually quite smaller than that.

Pacquiao weighed 147 lbs. only 5 days before the fight with Hatton. There was a potential weight problem and they made sure he won`t exceed 140, there was a margin of error.

For example look what happened to Campbell, they failed to synchronize their weighing scale with the official one.

In the Pac-dela Hoya fight, Team Pacquiao noticed that Pac lost 7 pounds within one day, (the catch weight was at 145) and noted that the official scale was off by 5 lbs., favoring Oscar. There was an article about that.

Both would tend to maximize the exact scales so that they won`t be disqualified, nor have undue disadvantages in having less weight. But officially they would tend to be the same. It is the day after that is equally important, as in Hatton blaming the loss for not weighing 154 the next day, only 152 (from an official weigh-in of 140 !!!).

1st off....the catchweight for Pacquio-DLH was 147. Not 145. And the error in the scales have been dismissed as rumors. Cuz lord knows what the repricussions would be if Pacquiao ever got credit for beating an Oscar delahoya that actually weighed his normal weight and wasnt weight drained.

Secondly. I wouldnt put too much significance about what a fighter weighs 5 days before a fight or on fight night unless its a truely significant number like in delahoya's case. Because most of the weight lost within the last week of the fight and regained on fight night is expendable water weight.

No, welterweight is from 141-147 pounds, and it was in both parties contract that they agreed upon a catch weight of 145 pounds (if it was 147 lbs. then there is no catch-weight), and that for every pound Oscar would exceed 145, he would be penalized one million dollars. Every one knows that, it was posted everywhere in the internet.

Well this next one is a matter of opinion. I`d say, if I reduced one day and ate a half-pounder, I would gain a little more muscle and fat, not only water weight.

The catchweight was 147 because Oscar had been fighting at 154. And Pacquiao would have been moving up 3 weight divisions from 135 to 154 to fight DLH. So they decided to make a reasonable concession and meet at 147. And yes there was a stipulation about a million dollar fee for every lb over 147 oscar was overweight.

Let me put this in terms that may be easier to understand. If you were Pacquiao and fighting at 147....why would you weigh 142 just 1 day before the fight if you were planning on only weighing 147 or 148 on fight night?? What advantage would you have to gain from being 5lbs lighter the day before the fight??

If you were fighting at 140 and planned on weighing 147-148 on fight night...would you not lose the least amount of weight as necessary?? meaning you weigh in at 140 on the dot?? And yet Pacquiao weighed in at 138. Again...much lighter than necessary. Ask yourself why??

For all the slag Pacquiao has taken about being accustomed to fighting weight drained fighters....the 1 challenge Mayweather does answer....he openly admits that he took the challenge because Marquez is too small for him.
Well you simply wont find me talking **** about Pac, Mayweather, Cotto, Marquez, or any of em. I think people should rethink their bitterness about fighters not doing exactly what they want them do. We cant dictate their lives.

                  1. I think they would be a couple of pounds under, 138 or 137 for both of them.

                  2. Mayweather will come in at 144, don't be surprised if Marquez comes in very light, like 140.

                  3. Pacquiao would be around 142, Mayweather 147.
