Beard told a few of my mates that went to see the fight that Mayweather wanted to put the fight back a few weeks.

Hatton was getting battered in sparring and in Mayweathers eyes wasn't ready.

Hatton didn't want to postpone because of all the fans/tickets/flights etc etc.

Make of that what you want. Don't shoot the messenger.

If this is true then Hatton should just pack his bags and stop boxing.He wasnt overweight before he started training so he has had it.

I think reading between the lines, Floyd Sr. was right.

They simply opted to take a different route than was being taught to Ricky and Ricky paid the consequences.

I may be wrong, but I don't believe they'll admit to NOT following the first plan that was supposed to be followed.

Go back and review the end of the first round where Floyd tells Ricky:
"You should've listened to me...etc., etc..."

That will tell you everything you need to know.

Agreed, Did you see how Floyd and Ricky where working the pads? Floyd would of had him ready. Greed is the culprit, how much money did Beard feel he was owed? Lee Beard, the assistant trainer for Ricky Hatton, was very impressed with the performance of Manny Pacquiao. He, along with head trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr, had a plan in place to overtake Pacquiao on May 2 in Las Vegas. No reason to push it back. Hatton had a 3 month camp, postponement would have just delayed the inevitable, he was never gonna be ready.

A lot of people were saying that Ricky was being disrespectful to Manny after his "a few more rounds" interview and for some of the stuff he said in the build-up but you'd be hard pushed to find me a more down-to-earth guy than Hatton...

To be fair, anybody can look good on pads. Ricky only looked fast on them, because he was arm punching, and barely putting any power into his shots. If you see Manny on the pads, he puts all his power into his shots, and is still far faster than Hatton.
